Rex Brothers just had a 2 out, 2 run, 4 wild pitch outing...29

That's what cost him the closer's job in CO.

The Cubs had a great offseason, but I do wish they'd gone out
and gotten a reliable lefty reliever - the degree to which they
seem to be banking on Brothers is a little puzzling. He hasn't
just had control problems - he's been legimately wild.
       Seriously, biblically wild.

They're waiting for him to get Rick Ankiel wild.

I would've liked to see a LH reliever added too. But if you
believe in what Wood did after moving to the bullpen last year,
the Cubs still have a pretty good one. And what he did after he
moved to relief looked sustainable on paper.

Wood is being sold short. He may not want to be a relief
pitcher, but he is good at it. Richards isn't bad either. Left
hand reliever gets pretty scary if the don't work out though.
Brothers is wild and Rosscup is hurt, so until Leathsitch is
recovered the next guy is Olmos or Jokisch. Jokisch's pitch mix
isn't ideal for relief. It would be great if Zastrynzy could
take a giant leap forward with his command, he might be
       interesting in relief.

       Rizzo also homered.
La Stella left the game before he ever took an AB because of
       right calf soreness.

I saw Russell hit a ball off the back wall in CF (50 feet-ish
behind the OF wall) during batting practice in cavernous Petco
Park last season. I don't know how far that was, but it was
easily the farthest anyone on either team hit one in BP.
Everyone in the crowd let out a collective gasp and everyone on
the field kind of stopped and stared for about a 3-count.
