Up here in Viking land I can say the Vikings fans have
absolutely no clue what their team is gonna do in the draft.
For a team in such desperate straits at QB I have to prop the
Vikings fans on not just blindly jumping on the "we've got to
take a QB in the 1st round" bandwagon. They realize that all
of the top ranked QBs class have significant question marks and
higher than average bust potential, and they're smart enough to
know that LT, DL and DB are also significant needs and a top
ranked player at one of those positions could very clearly be
the safer choice at 12. If there is anything close to consensus
up here it's that the Vikings will probably NOT take a QB in the
1st but are very likely to jump on one in the 2nd.

The only QB scenario that concerns me even a little bit as a
Bears fan is the Vikings taking Mallett and him actually keeping
his head on straight and shredding our D for the next 10 years.
The way drama follows that team around though I think that's a
long-shot at best and a Leaf-type epic meltdown is more likely
if he winds up there.
And even if Mallett keeps his nose clean, his Marino-esque
mobility could translate to a short career against the likes of
Raji, Matthews, Peppers and Suh.
