JBN, Any luck finding any morels?
I have found 8 small greys growing right in my back yard. I
have looked around in the woods with no luck.
I am guessing with all the rain and it finally warming up today
and tomorrow will be good days to find them.
In fact the little patch I have been finding them in my back
yard I have scowered probably 10 times the last few days and I
seem to find one or two each time. I don't know if they are
popping in between checks or if I keep missing them. The first
day I found a few dried out so they must have popped early. I
am putting them in non-chlorinated water with salt and sugar and
then I will pour it in the woods behind my house by a dead oak
tree hoping they take off there in a few years. I guess some
people have had success spreading the spores that way but it is
pretty hit or miss.

I don't believe in it enough to buy a kit but I am trying to
make a slurry with any dried out ones I find or ones that are
inedible for whatever reason.

Yeah in the woods it may take them another week to get warm
enough.
The ones I have found are growing right in my lawn so it
probably warms up quicker.
