There's too many good 3-4 OLBs in this draft for us not to get
at least one.

6 - Willie Beavers - OT - Western Michigan

7 - Kevin Hogan - QB - Stanford
I would still prefer Shepard and LeRaven Clark in rounds 3-4 and
signing joki's CB, but my draft didn't fall that way...

The operative word is good...not great 3-4 OLBs. In your draft
all we would need in free agency would be another 3-4 lineman, a
starting O-lineman and a starting DB.

I had us signing Jackson, and drafting Lawson and Tapper...are
you suggesting another DT?
I had us signing a LT and drafting Beavers...are you suggesting
another G?
I had us drafting a CB and a SS...where are you suggesting
another starter?

Oops, I didn't see your FA signings.
Basically, I don't count on any rookies winning starting jobs.
With Bears lack of talent especially on defense they'll have to
sign a couple d-lineman, an ILB, and a couple of DBs.
Offensively, a starting O-lineman and if Bennett goes a TE.
Those guys have to be able to win or at least seriously compete
for a starting job with your veterans. After that you have your
draft and anything you get out of it is a supplement to your
team with your free agents. A bonus (expecting your 6th or 7th
rounders or even 3rd or 4th rounders to step in right away, is
nuts).

2 - Vernon Butler - DL - La Tech
3 - Sterling Shepard - WR - Oklahoma
4 - Jaylon Smith- OLB - Notre Dame
5 - Miles Killebrew - SS - S Utah
6 - Morgan Burns - CB - Kansas St
6 - Charles Tapper - DL - Oklahoma
6 - Tyler Johnstone - OL - Oregon
7 - Kevin Hogan - QB - Stanford
Predictably, Hunter Henry went to the Giants at 3-8, right
before my Shepard pick.
