Castro vs Baez would have been a debate once, but not after
Castro's September. No way Castro isn't in the lineup, although
he might get removed for defense later in the game.
If Joe starts La Stella over Coghlan (which is really the only
debate, I think), I'm guessing it's due to Joe's perception of
La Stella's ability handle velocity. We've been hearing a lot
about that lately. Probably it comes from Joe. I don't pretend
to be able to judge Coghlan's ability against good heat, and I
don't have access to the numbers (I expect they do). I think
defensively it's mostly a wash. La Stella isn't that different
from Bryant at third. Coghlan isn't that different from Bryant
in the outfield (yeah, Coghlan is better this year, but it's
only about six months ago he was collectively referred to as a
       butcher).
I already said I'd go with Coghlan for defense (and then I said
it was mostly a wash, which I think it is). It's why I won't be
surprised either way. If it's La Stella, bet it's about
       velocity.

Cole's been better against LH batters by 70 OPS points this
       year.

Rasmus solo homer puts the Astros up 1-0 in the top of the
       second.

Chris Archer in the booth, making me wish the Cubs still had
him. And I'm one of the few who still doesn't have any problem
       with the Garza trade.
       Carlos Gomez homer, 2-0 Astros!

Imagine adding Chris Archer and Josh Donaldson to this Cubs
       team.

Can you imagine this boards reaction to a AAA hitter that put up
wRC+ of 104 and 94 his first to years in AAA and a wRC+ of 31
and 90 and handing him the 3B job?
Or a AA pitcher with 19.3% K% and 13.1% BB% that on promotion to
AAA improves that to 21.8% and 10.9%? For people that don't
follow those numbers they are bad.

Keuchel dominating through 5 innings, still 2-0. Would really
be nice to see the Yankees season end tonight.

I can't recall if it was the night of, or the morning after,
Denorfia's GW HR, but either Baseball Tonight or MLBN showed a
graphic that stated that Denorfia was one of the league's best
hitters against pitchers whose fastballs are 96+...no clue where
they got the data from, but his average was .330+...
