What if Marshall is just bad luck for making the playoffs? Kind
of like the Sports Illustrated jinx...

       Too bad for Peanut:
The Panthers secured home-field advantage yesterday, but they
lost a key part of their secondary.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera told reporters that veteran cornerback
Charles Tillman suffered a torn ACL in yesterday’s win over
       Tampa Bay.
Tillman tried coming back from a partial tear of that ligament,
and nearly got through three games before re-injuring himself
       yesterday.
The move leaves the Panthers down a pair of corners who have
started this year, after Bene Benwikere suffered a broken leg.
Now, the Panthers have a pair of guys opposite Josh Norman who
were out of work this season — Cortland Finnegan and Robert
       McClain.
McClain will likely start outside, while Finnegan will continue
to cover the slot, as the Panthers proceed into the playoffs.

What's Jared Allen doing for the Panthers? I don't get their
       games on TV.

I checked his stats out yesterday...2 sacks for the year...and
       he's their starting RDE.
Getting a 6th or 7th rounder for him was a good deal for both
teams...well, maybe better for the Bears since they probably get
rid of his contract next year.

Also read that St. Louis, Oakland, and San Diego all want to
move to LA. Two of the teams would share a new stadium.
Now why did the Rams and Raiders leave LA in the first place?

Because there was too much to do besides watch a very, very,
expensive nfl game in a falling down stadium. Nothing's changed
really. I've read that LA is a Laker Dodgers USC UCLA town,
period. But I don't own a football team., so I don't know why
they want to go back, other than to somehow make MORE money.
You know, 3 billion as opposed to a paltry 2 billion. Hey, a
billion dollars doesn't buy what it used to. May as well cave
and make the English broadcast the secondary one.

What's probably happening is the league is pushing for a team(s)
to get back to the second largest market in the country. It was
silly for the Rams/Raiders to leave if they're simply gonna turn
around and head back. Kinda ridiculous....

I think the problem is folks in LA aren't die hard fans. If the
team wins, things are great and the stands are full of all those
rich folks. If things are bad, they aren't dedicated to sit in
the stands supporting losing seasons. They also already have 3
other teams in Ca so they can pull for someone that is winning.
Seems like there was talk of the Jags moving awhile back. If
Miami or TB had better teams, they might pull fans from the
       Jags.
In Fl, none of the teams are winning :-)

       Kinda funny:
Even though Gus Bradley is safe, you don’t have the kind of
record the Jaguars have lately without changes.
The shoe dropped Tuesday, as the team announced defensive
coordinator Bob Babich would not return.
The Jaguars were 31st in the league in scoring defense, allowing
28.0 points per game. That overshadowed the progress they made
on the other side of the ball, and helps explain a 5-11 record.
But it wasn’t a one-year fluke, as the Jaguars have been really
bad on defense as long as Bradley has been coaching there.
Babich was previously a defensive coordinator in Chicago with
Lovie Smith, who promoted him to that post after getting rid of
some guy named Ron Rivera (who could end up winning another
coach of the year award soon).
But his fate in Jacksonville was basically sealed when Bradley
said he’d “look at” taking over defensive play-calling himself.
