So as I'm understanding it ... if ANY player is on
I.R..............
ANY player can be used as a plugin. Is that correct ?

NO.
If a RB WR or TE is on IR. The flex position can be filled with
any one of those positions.
For instance if your QB is hurt. You are allowed to put them on
IR and pick up another. Technically you are carrying three
QB's. One Bench, one starting and one hurt.
We are supposed to have 2TE and 3RB. If you normally start both
TE's (one as flex) and one of them gets hurt you place them on
IR and pick up a RB to fill the flex position you are still
carrying 2TEs but you have 4RBs. One of those RBs must be in
the flex position.
I say if we just make the flex position a Roster position next
year instead of just a starting position then it will be all
clear.

This is the last week of the regular season.
Why don't people look at the site to find out the answers to
some of these questions?
If you click on the standings you can see where you stand in the
playoff race.

I think this is where you usually post the obligatory, "don't go
cutting all of your players" note to the teams that are out of
the playoff picture.

Griz is correct, if you didn't advance to the playoffs you
cannot pickup or drop players.

I get that head-to-head is the first tiebreaker, but you can't
really use head-to-head in a 4-way tie?
