I talk to friends in 12 team , 16 week , no keeper leagues and
they say there is NO WAY they would play in a league like ours
... it's just too hard.
Having keepers means "all the good players are gone."
In week 17 "teams rest their starters."
With 16 teams there's "not enough players on the waiver wire
available."
It takes balls to be in this League ... if you can win it all
you tried a lot harder then the rest of the nation.
Almost every year we keep crowning a new Super Bowl Champ other
then the past
years winner.

It is not the same team winning every year. Pekin won last year
and this year he is not in the playoffs. It does seem that the
good teams stay on top, but part of that is drafting. I picked
overall #1 and my draft was Melvin Gordon and Eddie Royal who
were busts, but I did get Greg Olsen and the Seattle defense
which were consistent. I was constantly churning my receivers
and running backs and by near the end of the season had Langford
and Rawls at RB and Maclin, Benjamin, and Wheaton. Hardly an
embarrassment of riches! My keepers were Cutler, Davante Adams
(boy Wisconsin just screwed me!) and Maclin. I believe I didn't
protect Fitzgerald who was a monster this year after two poor
years in a row.
So a better draft would have helped me and better keeper
selections.
The one change I would advocate is have last week be the
Superbowl week. Too many teams resting starters this week and
if you have managed to get to this week as an excellent game
manager, you shouldn't be penalized by having your players being
given light action. Week 17 is too much of a crapshoot and if I
were competing I would want my best team playing and not a bunch
of last minute waiver pickups.
Finishing last in 2014 and second to last in 2015, improvement
is coming for Silverback!

The reason we have to use all 17 weeks is that it takes 14 to
complete our balanced schedules. Then the three weeks of
playoffs. If we cut it by one week it would just have to be the
division winners and no wild cards for a two week playoff in
weeks 15 and 16. Could be done but I believe everyone is in the
same boat week 17 and the real league the resting of players has
lessened with all the wild cards and playoff spots coming down
to the last week of the season lately.

Yeah at the beginning of the season you don't know WHO is going
to be rested in week 17 so you have to hope for the best for
your team if you get to the Championship.
I would change the flex to a roster spot like WML said.
We should see who the owners are going to be in late July early
August to avoid the last minute hassle's.
One thing for sure in this League is that whatever teams start
out in week 1 can be in week 17.
Parity.

I only have one keeper from last year starting and that was
Sammy Watkins. I think this is my first year making the playoffs
in this league.
To me the rb is the hardest position to gauge. You have a lot of
teams splitting carries or just throwing it a lot. I started a
(Alfred Blue) today I just picked up since last game off the
waiver wire. I think he will end up being my highest scoring rb
by a good margin.

Congrats Nav.
I lose by 2 points to the champ because old man Calvin decides
to take a nap during a shootout in NO and then you win the
enchilada by 2. Close shaves indeed.
