I want the Cards to have the best record in baseball. It will

I'm curious how the playoff weddings work. Assuming the Cards
finish with the best record in the NL do they get the winner of
the wild card or the team with the playoff team with the worst
record?

Yeah, my understanding is that the team with the best record now
faces the wild card team no matter what.

Not sure why would be done to trade a guy. Just trade the guy.
