Castro's bat would be fine at second or third, so I wouldn't
assume that he is getting traded if he moves off SS.

What's the weather like in Chicago...it's pouring here near St.
Louis.

San Diego's looking for a shortstop. Castro and Jackson to San
Diego for Cashner and a prospect, bring up Russell.

Yeah, just put Castro in a role where he's a solid role player
for the Cubs, like the #2 or #6/7 hitter in the lineup and a
less demanding position in the field like shortstop, and have
Bryant, Russell, Rizzo, etc. be the leaders and the stars of the
team.
Right now he's still in a position where he's expected to be
Derek Jeter-Lite, and by this point, everyone including media
guys like Olney ought to acknowledge he's at least not that. He
doesn't have to be Jeter-Lite to be a useful player, though.

Castro's a better defensive SS than Jeter (ducking).....
If young Derek Jeter started playing for the Cubs at the same
time Castro did, his reputation would be much, much different.

I think Castro will be more valuable in a trade than as a non-SS
for the Cubs. I'd trade him when Russell is ready.

Absolutely!!! I thought on the play in LF, there was a lack of
communication between the two-no one knew who was going to get
it. This will work itself out with time-hopefully it was
addressed by Maddon or the coaching staff with each player after
the game.

Tonight's game has been postponed.
I wish they'd drop the off day after opening day. They could've
easily played yesterday, but now they will have to play a double
header sometime later.
Really, in cities like Chicago, the first series should be
scheduled as three games to be played in four days. Pick the
three days with the best weather, and schedule games for those
days. Sell tickets for specific games (game 1, 2, and 3) rather
than specific dates.

Yes, but now Bryant misses 1 less game to get to 12 days.
