If Bryant were here tonight and k'ed 2 or 3 times, we'd all feel
worse.
See? There is a bright side!

I DVR'd the game and had to watch it in fast forward after the
bottom of the 4th inning. Between Kruk, the home plate umpire
and ESPN jumping on Starlin Castro when Chris Coghlan missed a
blooper, I just couldn't take it anymore.
It was just one game but a microcosm of what has ailed the Cubs
for so long -- The strike outs with runners on third, the key
hits by Jon Jay, Jason Heyward owning everyone that the Cubs
throw at him, trouble hitting with runners in scoring position,
etc.
But, it's just one game.

Hard to take much out of one game in a season as long as
baseballs.
Brighter days are close boys......

ended up as a pretty boring game. But the bullpen was really
good and Cubs had lots of decent at bats even with meh results.
The national story will be that the Wrigley bathroom situation
was a disaster (rumors of guys re-filling their empty beer cups
because lines were so long, and of fans being given passes to
leave the ballpark to go to neighboring businesses to use the
bathroom then come back into the game).

It will do an extra year of control.

What was the year when we went like 0-15? Dunston and Grace
were aboard and it was supposed to be the Kevin Orie era at
third, his first year, which he stunk up. Please don't let that
happen this year, baseball Gods, please. Over .500 at LEAST!

My main concern from last night was the exposure of Lester's
throwing problems to the bases. Opening Night. Most of
baseball watching and now the world knows that Lester won't
throw to the bases. Wonderful.
