Two K's for Edwards in total.

Still winless? Is it too early to start the Fire Maddon
movement? Bring back Ricky! :)

Of course not.
Has Maddon been fired yet???

Yes.

One of the things which is possible is that Baez does not handle
the changes well and himself does not play well enough at Iowa
to merit being called up before September. The last high K
prospect the Cubs worked with in the off season has never made
it back -- Brett Jackson.
I am not trying to compare the two and I certainly hope Baez
shows improvement instead of following the Jackson trajectory
and getting worse, but Russell's rate of development is not the
only factor in determining which one of them appears in Wrigley
first after Spring training.

I don't think that Baez's progress or lack thereof will have any
effect on Russell's career this year. Certainly over the long
run, but not this year.

Yeah, that three run homer would actually be a grand slam during
the regular season.

If Baez regresses at the plate this year, as Brett Jackson did
after the Cubs spent the off-season trying to get him to make
changes reducing his K-rate and his swing and miss rate (the
kind of things the Cubs worked on with Baez this off-season), I
think even you would disagree with your comments.

When and whether Russell becomes ready is independent of Baez;
when and whether Baez is ready is independent of Russell.
Whether Baez thrives or struggles won't determine if and when
Russell becomes big-league ready.

If Baez died of a heart attack tomorrow, it wouldn't change my
comments. I don't think that this front office will bring up
Russell this year (other than a possible September call up)
regardless of how Baez does.

3-4-5-6 in today's Cubs batting order is
Alcantara-Soler-Baez-Bryant, and Russell is hitting 8th.
As it happens, I'll be down in Phoenix this weekend and will go
to the game Sunday. I'm fully expecting some
Valaika-Herrera-LaStella-Denorfia action. (I may have spelled
all of those names wrong but frankly don't care enough to double
check).
