I've mentioned Tyson Ross a couple times before. He'd be a
really interesting guy for the Cubs to look into. I just can't
figure out what he'd cost. He was a legitimate All Star/#2-type
starter in 2014, and he is under control for 3 more years. On
the other hand, he has only been good as a starter for his last
~300 innings, and does have injury concerns in his past.

Tulo and maybe Peralta depending on how much you buy the
defensive metrics.
My fun Baez calucation. .330 BABIP, 195K, 665 PA, 40 HR, 29 2B,
2 3B, 41 BB. Gives you an OPS of .904.

Bet we could get Cashner for Rizzo.

On one hand, would feel bad for Castro -- having to sit through
all the crap re-build, and then get traded when the Cubs might
get good. Then again, the Mets have good young talent and a ton
of cash and are on a good track too. Plus, I also figure guys
from the DR like playing in NYC; it's got a huge Dominican
population, way more than any other US city I'm pretty sure.

Using those numbers, 665 PA, 40 HR, 41 walks, 624 AB, 195K, that
produces an .830 OPS for me.
.515 slugging, .315 OBP.
Hmm. One of us is doing something wrong, and it's maybe me. But
after looking at Rizzo's profile for clearing .900 OPS, I don't
qualitatively think your Baez numbers would approach what Rizzo
had (in only 616 PA versus the 665 you're suggesting.) Did you
put in 50 HR's instead of 40, maybe?

I used an online calculator
OBP: .324
SLG: .524
OPS: .848
First time I didn't back out the BB from the PA for his BABIP
calculation to get hits.
665 PA, 195 K, .330 BABIP, 99 Singles, 29 2B, 2 3B, 41 BB, 7
HBP, 5 SF. I basically took his 2015 Steamer projections and
increased the HR and BABIP.

Other than the fun of discussing totally hypothetical trades
(with no particular basis in reality), is there some reason that
there is talk here about trading Castro? Or Baez? Does anyone
seriously believe there is any serious chance of either being
traded this winter? I certainly don't.

$70 million.
