I think they took some over slot kids that they already signed.
If they don't sign a Aiken they may be over and lose the pick
       anyway.

Until MLB starts finding out why pitchers get hurt so often, I'm
not sure how you can justify a high draft pick on a pitcher.
The risks are just so high.

To qualify for the #2 pick next year, the Astros would have to
offer him at least 40% of slot value ($3,168,840), and Aiken
       would have to reject it.

       That's a good point. I didn't think about that.
If Aiken badly flunked his physical, that kind of money still
has to be very appealing to him.

       Exactly.

Some of you asked me about MLB14 The Show a few days ago and
wanted me to tell you what I thought about it after I played it
a little. Its very similiar to last years but the gameplay is a
little sharper and the graphics are a little more clean. The
most important thing to me is always gameplay realism as in the
cpu making correct throws and decisions and such and not hitting
12 hrs a game and throwing a no hitter every time and all of
that stuff seems to play realistic too.

Every time I watch a Braves game, I'm reminded how lucky we got
when Chip Caray got his feelings hurt and the Cubs ended up with
Len instead. The Chip Caray/Joe Simpson booth is terrible.

Len is the best PBB guy the Cubs have had since forever.

Am I the only person who sees absolutely no conflict in the last
       two posts?

Len is no Harry Carey to be sure. Harry was the embodiment of a
passionate fan - with all that entailed. He was a larger than
       life personality.
Len is, on the other hand, an extremely knowledgeable and very
articulate and, for the most part, entertaining play-by-play
       announcer.
