I like the Angels side of the deal. Frieri is just a Marmol
type--he's always going to be wild and prone to blow-ups.

I am watching the Arizona / San Diego game and Dick Enberg and
two other guys (one of whom is Mark Kotsay) are actually arguing
against replay and FOR incorrect calls standing because they
liked to see managers blow a gasket and argue with umpires.
I've seen some idiotic garbage before but allowing wrong calls
to stand because you want to see a manager throw a tantrum after
his team was robbed because an umpire just missed a call has to
be up there.
Yeah, who cares who wins and loses as long as you get to see a
grown man act like a toddler?
In the same game, I just got my first look at the new hat for
pitchers designed to protect them from liners to the head. It
looks awkward but if it saves one guy a life-threatening injury,
it's well worth it.

This might well illustrate another benefit of allowing video
challenges. One of the concerns was that challenges might
lengthen games, but we have seen the challenges done fairly
quickly. Things which almost never happen quickly in games are
manager tantrums, player tantrums and ejections and
bench-clearing brawls. I suspect that the challenge process is
likely to reduce all three of those serious game-delaying events
-- manager tantrums/ejections; player tantrums/ejections; and
brawls.

Astros internal trade talks leaked:

If this it true, it makes it look like crazy message board
trades that we'd never expect to get offered in real life
actually do happen (for example, Bogaerts, Cecchini, Webster, or
Bradley for Bud Norris. Or Harrell for Giolito).

Man that is an interesting read. Buying a car and trading
players seems to have a lot in common.

Very interesting. Would love love love to come across something
like that for the Cubs.

Cubs password is real complicated: think Wrigley. Password is
"gum"
