Yeah, Girard is south of Springfield about 20 miles. Sorry to

Jim Thome is .171 .261 .293 with one homer. The rest of the
Twins are doing very well either. Thome needs 10 more homers to
reach 600 for his career. It would be a shame if he didn't get
there. And it would be just as bad if he hung on trying and
that became how we remember him - sorta like Willie Mays with
the Mets.

Some quotes from Ryan Franklin about the St. Louis fans who have
been booing him:
“I guess they have short memories too because I think I’ve been
pretty good here,” Franklin told Rains. “It doesn’t bother me
but it just shows some people’s true colors. You’re either a fan
or you’re not."

“You don’t boo your own team. I don’t care who you are or what
you say or just because you spent your money to come here to
watch us play that somebody happens to make one bad pitch and
give up a homer and you are going to start booing him? I’ve been
here for five years and four years I’ve been pretty good.”

“You should go write stories about the fans booing. They are
supposed to be the best fans in baseball. Yeah right.”
I don't know the context of Franklin's comments, and it's
probably not politic for him to say these things publicly. But
I agree with the substance of what he says ... whether it's
about Cardinal fans or Cub fans or any other fans.
