the Twins first hit.
The game is still scoreless.

Watching Fredi Gonzalez tonight makes me appreciate Quade. He
really loves the sacrifice bunt.
The #2 hitter (Nate McLouth) has sacrificed 3 times tonight.
Each time, he has been the first out of the inning. One time,
four straight guys had reached base to start the inning...and he
still sacrificed.

Of course, Gonzalez isn't as bad as Dusty. Here's the start of
the Reds' 7th inning tonight:
C Heisey singled to left.
D Stubbs walked, C Heisey to second.
E Renteria doubled to left, C Heisey and D Stubbs scored.
T Miller relieved M Batista.
J Votto walked.
F Salas relieved T Miller.
B Phillips sacrificed to pitcher, E Renteria to third, J Votto
to second.
That's right...after 4 straight hitters reached to start the
inning, Dusty gave away the first out by sacrificing with his
cleanup hitter. His cleanup hitter is hitting .319/.373/.459
this year, and Dusty gave away an out in an inning when 4
straight guys had gotten on base.
