Well, it's not going to be anyone else unless it's the Brewers
which is about as as the Cardinals winning the division.

The Cardinals have jumped out to about 10 games over .500 pretty
quickly in each of the last 4 years. Then they have played
about .500 or worse the rest of the year, with the one exception
of 2009 (when they significantly improved their team midseason
with Holliday and DeRosa). I don't think it'll be any different
this year. If anything, they'll never get to 10 over.

Rays left fielder Sam Fuld went 0 for 4 Saturday against the
Angels and is hitless in his last 18 at-bats. He stayed in the
game after fouling a bunt attempt off his forehead. Manager Joe
Maddon said reports after the game were that Fuld was fine.

Alumni news
Jason Marquis pitched a complete game shutout for the Gnats the
other day. He has 3 wins and an era under 3.

That is the right question, and the answer is that generally
they would not. The guy should not get special treatment just
because he is a baseball player. But "not getting special
treatment" also means not getting treated more harshly.
