I didn't realize that Pena had an appendectomy.

If the Sox keep going the way they're going, how long before
       they lose a manager?

Wow. That's really shocking. I had no idea. I assume he'll
turn things around, but if he doesn't that's going to be a
really, really terrible contract. I bet the Nationals are happy
about their decision to let him go at this point.
At least Pena is an excellent defensive 1B, whereas Dunn has
       negative defensive value anywhere.

Curt, Matt Holliday had an appendectomy yet has a 1.248 OPS.
Of course, he's a Cardinal so that should be expected.

Now, you know the umpires aren't allowing Dunnnto have a good
       year.

Adam LaRoche (.211/.338/.316), Aubrey Huff (.216/.268/.338),
Lyle Overbay (.239/.325/.352) and Derrek Lee (.209/.303/.284)
       have been pretty lousy too.
I guess it would look bad no matter which free agent first
       baseman they signed.

Damn I miss the WC Sox board. I can't see all these excuses now.

I don't think everyone reacts the same to a surgery like that.
Dunn may be adjusting to the league too.
       Or maybe he just sucks.

He just needs to be a Cardinal.
Look at Berkman. He's on pace for a hundred extra-base hits and
       135 RBI.

Chris, not the fans giving the excuses. But Hawk is being Hawk
       these days.
He's even got a new line: "It's all good!"
