Source: #Cardinals' offer would have given Pujols about
10th-highest salary in game. Likely translates to $19M-$21M per.

If Ryan Howard is getting $25 million per year, Pujols shouldn't
be settling for $19-21.

Derek Jeter is 74 hits away from the 3,000 milestone.
Surprisingly, he will be the first to accomplish that feat as a
Yankee.

Mark Grudzielanek has retired.

His stats for the Cubs in 2003/2004 were a lot better than I
remember them

Aaron Boone is a terrible baseball analyst and announcer.

Another day and another witness in the Barry Bonds trial drives
the nail in his coffin a little deeper. Today it is his
orthopedic surgeon.

I'll be the first to admit that I've never cared a hoot in Hades
for Barry or his dad, but the time and money spent to nail this
clown on perjury charges is nuts. Taxpayers bucks misspent IMHO

Chicken deaths probe of 2 Texas prep players

BENBROOK, Texas -- Police in the Dallas area are investigating
whether two high school baseball players sacrificed chickens in
a bid to improve their games.

Police in Benbrook, Texas, say a 15- and 16-year-old "engaged in
acts that caused the death of two baby chickens. It appears that
superstition relating to a slump in baseball performance could
have played a part."

Western Hills High School baseball coach Bobby McIntire says he
has not had a chance to talk to the students about why they did
it. He told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that "baseball is very
superstitious" and the idea possibly came from movies they say.

School officials say the boys have been kicked off the team.

No more slump, so I suppose it worked...
