I guess this might be a good topic for the winter meetings, but
what if Kendrys Morales decides to sign the day we're having the
11th or 12th round? It seems like that would be pretty
fortunate for whomever's lucky enough to have their time slot
come up the moment the signing is officially announced and have
Morales as their 12th round pick.
It might be a good thing to have a rule that says if a player is
a free agent before the start of the draft, he is ineligible to
be picked.

Then he can get picked. No, we're not having that rule. Next
you'll want a rule that if the guy you picked yesterday gets
injured and out for the year that you can pick again. Ah, no.
If someone wanted Santana in the first round, that's just bad
luck.

May i offer a solution... make those guys "punts" if someone
wants morales in the 3rd... risk taking him... if he doesnt sign
by end of draft you punted that pick... if he does then
congrats...
