Well, half the fans are happy today and the other half are
fuming about the Cut signing....I'm in the middle

I think more Bears fans are disappointed in Tucker not being
fired (and/or the lack of any details on how the D will be
improved), then they are in Cutler being re-signed.
The other thing this does is frees up the franchise tag for
another player. I'm not sure there is anyone on the Bears
roster worthy of it, but we do have that option.

If they're going to keep McClellin, then they should consider
mixing in some 46 D. Marshall and Wilson excelled in standing up
and rushing the passer from one side, overwhelming the blockers
there. If Tucker were creative enough, he could make McClelling
a nightmare for the O to keep out of the backfield.

At least they are acknowledging the D regressed over the course
of the year.
I think they are overestimating how good the D was the first few
games but at least they're admitting it finished worse than they
started.

I think McClellin could fill a role similar to Roosevelt Colvin.
The thing is, Colvin played on a line with big DTs who
commanded double teams.
Unless we get some of those guys on our DL then I don't think
McClellin will ever flourish no matter how they try to deploy
him. The longer we stick with this Lovie legacy of puny DTs
the harder it will be for Shea to establish himself. He
basically can't shed blockers at all so he needs guys around him
who can keep bodies off of him and leave him open in space.

"The back end was so wide open"
Yeah, that's a pretty good way to put it... :-\
Our back end was wide open (with cheeks spread) all year long.
Fix that please.

Boomer Esiason is asked about the Bears and what they were
thinking signing Cut- 'I see a explosive offense, like when Josh
McCown was in there.....'

Emery and Trestman have stepped down... not sure if the players
who were extended today are coming up or not.
