I originally was on the fence with the defensive staff thinking
injuries/age was the biggest issue. The more I think about it,
the more I think there needs to be some house cleaning there.
The D didn't improve over the season.
I think Bowman and Frey were bright spots but they were about
       it.
the LBers and the S regressed and the DL was beat up pretty
       good.

If Tucker has to stay then I hope at minimum the DL coach and DB
coach are replaced. Those units were awful the entire year
despite having a fair amount of continuity in personnel from
       last year.
Our LBs had issues too but I give their coach a little more
leeway because of how much churn he had to deal with between Url
and Roach leaving and Briggs being out a substantial part of the
season. Starting two rookies and a guy who wasn't even on the
team last year (as we had to do while Briggs was out) is a huge
       coaching challenge.
Also keep in mind that our LBs were playing in front of safeties
who couldn't cover anybody, and behind the league's worst pass
rushing DL which also coincidentally couldn't hold the point
against the run at all. Get our front 4 and our D-Backfield up
to snuff with legit talent and coaching and I guarantee our LBs
will look much better in 2014 even if we don't change personnel
       in that unit at all.
6 or 7 new starters between the DL and DB positions, plus new DL
and DB coaches, would give me at least a glimmer of hope even if
it's Tucker in charge of the D again.

       My semi-educated guesses:
Keepers: Britton, Wootton, Walters, McManus, Boggs, Franklin,
Cutler, McCown, Ratliff, Slauson, Anderson, Bowman, Garza
Goners: Hester, Costanzo, Hayden, Rosario, Scott, Cohen, Melton,
       Tillman
50-50: Steltz, Jennings, Wright, D.J. Williams, Collins,
Mannelly (he is talking of retirement)

I would not be surprised to see Tillman in Tampa.
I also would not be surprised to see Darrelle Revis cut in Tampa
       to make signing space.

Yup... Revis' contract is 100% non guaranteed so they can let
him go and not be out a penny.
       Smart move by Tampa's brass.

Keep and eye out on Michael Bennett, the Seahawks DE.
He is a FA this year. He also happens to be Martellus' brother.
Martellus has already said he is going to lobby hard to get him
brought in here as a FA.
Michael B. had 31 tackles, 8.5 sacks and a forced fumble for TD
this year. Whether he benefited from being on a super talented
Seahawks DL with an even more talented back 7 is something Emery
       would have to determine.

Jennings and Slausen have new 4 year deals.
Cutler has a new 7 year deal.

       SEVEN F*cking Years?!
I wanted Cutler back but damn... he won't even be walking by
       then.
Good news on Jennings and Slauson.

That's good news at least.....three solid players signed. What
about McCown? He is equally as important....we don't want a crap
backup when Cut goes down as he usually does.
And 7 years is a bit ridiculous for sure....
