I know many (Keys, D23) would be surprised to hear me say it,
but I actually want Cut to return. I'm frustrated as heck about
his inability to beat GB, but what choice do we have, really? If
the D wasn't so screwed up, we might be able to choose a top
flight QB and groom him behind McCown, but we don't have that
luxury this season....

I heard the same thing about Peppers. We don't save much just
cutting him. Even a conditional 7th round pick is better than
cutting him

We would be on the hook for his signing bonus, but not his
salary. So however many years are left on his deal would all
accelerate into this year. What if he restructured and took a
salary cut?

Peppers has already restructured twice with the Bears... and
doesn't seem to be real enamored of Emery or any of the coaches
he's brought in. I get the feeling he has given in as much as
he is going to already.

Happy New Year to all. You guys might want to check out the
Capital One Bowl at !:00PM on ABC. Wisconsin vs South Carolina.
I'm gonna check out Chris Borland MLB Wisconsin to see if he
is the real deal. If he plays as good as his video I want him
4th round. He could play MLB or perhaps SS. He's shown that he's
top notch against the run and is all over the field. We need to
focus this draft on defense,in particular run defense. This is
why I'm for drafting him along with Jernigan (DT) and Kyle
Fuller (CB).
1) Tim Jernigan (DT)
2) Kyle Fuller (CB)
3) Travis Swanson or Bryan Stork (C)
4) Chris Borland (MLB/ SS)
5) Jalen Saunders (WR)
6) Andre Hal (CB)
6) Max Bulloch (MLB)

I have to say Borland was less than impressive. Although SC
didn't run at him he didn't look as aggressive as I've seen him.
However,I came away impressed with Carolina's QB Conner Shaw. He
seemed pretty cool and had a good command of all the aspects of
a top QB. I would certainly consider him as a late round
candidate.
Maybe Borland and Shaw could be our choices for our two 6th
round picks?

I want to watch the Fiesta Bowl tonight. The QB matchup will be
interesting to see. While I don't expect the Bears to draft a QB
unless someone they really like falls to the 5th or 6th round. I
would more likely see the Bears look into re-signing somebody
like Blanchard

I didn't see a lot of NFL caliber talent on that Wisconsin team.
Their one RB has pretty good wheels but the rest of their
offense is your typical slow, blah, Big 10 stuff. Run the ball
and short possession passes. Whoever knocked their starting QB
out of the game should have gotten MVP cause Wisconsin's backup
QB was godawful.
As for SC... Conner Shaw is OK but probably a 5-6 yr NFL backup
at best. Certainly not worth more than a low round pick. They
have a TE who looked pretty impressive and some BIG WRs
continuing in the mold of Alshon. I also saw a guy on the field
with the last name of Jeffery and was wondering if he was
Alshon's little bro but I never heard them say anything.
The UW LB was OK, I guess, and they had one DB who looked pretty
good. The defensive player who really impressed me though was a
guy named Zumwalt from UCLA who played the day before. #35...
not sure if he is draft eligible or if he plays LB or S but he
knocked VT's 6'6 260 lb QB out of the game with a ferocious (and
clean) hit, picked off a pass late in the game and was just
generally causing havoc all day.

Defensive Tackles ... Gimme TWO!
Yeah like we really stopped the run with,
Landon Cohen
Stephen Paea
Nate Collins
Henry Melton
All of the other guys that are on DL are DE's.
And sombody better point out that they arent that good either.
CHICAGO BEARS DEFENSE ... either ranked 30th or 31fst.
Fuuck that shiit baby !
