Well, the Seachickens just put to rest the notion that a hot
offense wins championships. As has been mentioned a thousand
times, DEFENSE wins Championships. Wonder how this will alter
the leagues GM's during this draft....bet there will be a lot of
defense taken....

Was this game won in the trenches ... or the secondary ? Or
both ?

All I know is the best D just kicked the crap out of the best O
and that for the 5th time out of 6 that those two things have
met. Give me all the D drafts and FA we can get. Forget wanting
to throw this thing all over the friggin field.....I'd rather
have a ferocious D and a ok O.....

some CBs get away with mugging WRs and others do not.
Just like some WRs get away with pushing off and others do not.
In the playoffs they seem to allow a little more of it.
I didn't get to see much of the game but it looked to me like
they let the defense play pretty physical.
I saw many hits to the head that didn't get called.

The $64 question is has Bears management gotten any message from
seeing the game? Has any of their attitudes or beliefs been
changed. Do they see the light that a mediocre defensive player
is no longer acceptable and that you have to strive for
excellence? Have they also figured out their defensive
coordinator isn't capable of improving the defense?

Do you honestly believe that Bears management thought that
mediocre defensive players were ok and that they need to be
reminded to "strive for excellence"? Ok, I get it that our D was
a disaster but lets at least keep the criticism in the real
world.
What you saw yesterday was a defense that can get pressure on
the QB with only the DL and doesn't have to blitz. That improves
the play of the LB's and secondary. I'm quite sure that "Bears
Management" is aware of that and didn't need a message from that
game.

Nice article but they way overvalued Hageman. He was owned all
game. I didn't see the height/weight statistics either for
everybody. That #99 from SC looks huge.
Hopefully the Bears can figure out who is a stud and who is a
dud.
