I've been reading and started looking at game film of SS Jimmie
Ward from N.Illinois. The guy is a real play maker and is all
over the field. I really like what I see and would consider him
if he is there in the 3rd round. I think he's on par with
Lamarcus Joyner of Fla.St. with three added inches to boot.
My newest update.
1) Tim Jernigan (DT)
2) Kyle Fuller (CB)
3) Jimmie Ward (SS)
4) Taylor Hart (DE)
5) Bryan Stork (C)
6a) Borland/Bullough (MLB)
6b) Fleming/Henderson (OT)

Geez Wsh we have to take whats best ... look at BEARS defense
... maybe its not what we want ... but its all we have.

Big-school prospects are not the only players who come to shine
in the Senior Bowl, as Princeton defensive tackle Caraun Reid
proved on Saturday.
Only the the second Princeton player to ever earn an invite to
the Senior Bowl and the program's only two-time All-American,
Reid entered Senior Bowl Week amid more hype than Ivy League
players typically enjoy.
He justified every bit of the hype on the field, however,
consistently generating pressure from the interior of South's
defensive line.
His performance culminated with back-to-back sacks of Virginia
Tech quarterback Logan Thomas in the third quarter of the Senior
Bowl. One of the sacks came against highly-regarded Baylor guard
Cyril Richardson.
NFLDraftScout.com currently projects the 6'2", 301-pound Reid as
a fourth-round pick, but he could easily see his stock rise
after Saturday's performance.
DT, Pittsburgh: It was Donald, not Ford, who earned most of the
buzz early in the week, whipping interior offensive linemen with
his quickness, tenacity and underrated strength. Like Ford,
Donald's size (6-foot-1, 288 pounds) limits his fits in the NFL
but his ability to pressure quarterbacks could earn him a
first-round selection.

If we don't switch to a 3-4, I think I would prefer we go back
to two big DT's.
I think that might also help if our DEs end up being a bit
undersized.
It also seems that with the big DTs, injury doesn't totally
diminish their value.

I hope Emery doesn't get a hard-on for Donald. At 6'1 and not
even 290 he will get eaten up in the pro's. He'd be better off
dropping 20 and trying to land somewhere as a 3-4 ILB like Levon
Kirkland for the Steelers was.
I hope we follow the M.O. Jacksonville did with their 4-3 when
Tucker was there, which was big DTs like Pot Roast Knighton.

But the "big dudes" at the Senior Bowl did absolutely nothing.
Is this just a bad DT draft period? Or are the Olinemen superior
this year. The bottom line is that we need an upgrade at DT and
nobody of size could penetrate an offense at the college level
so how can they be expected to do it at the pro level?

That's why you take BADP instead of locking in on a position
that might be considered weak in this draft...
Fix the DT position in FA, or thru trade, and get a difference
maker at another position at #14.

even a DE.

They aren't telling anybody because that would open us up to
competition for picks knowing what we need
