There's an awfully high bust factor with first round DT's.
We definitely need a big body who can control the run but I
don't know that has to come in the first round.

Our D is so bad in so many areas we can't afford to have tunnel
vision and focus on DT. I want the best D player available
regardless of position.

The mocks I see tend to push us into the LB from Alabama. A
premier LB doesn't do us that much good if the DL sucks canal
water. You have to upgrade the DL. Passing on 3 DTs for a LB
makes no sense. So BPA doesn't get it with me.

by the same token, you can't reach for Stephen Paea while Ed
Reed is on the board either.

Ed Reed doesn't stop the run for ya. The backend is made better
with a better frontend. A kick butt D-Line compensates for poor
DBs

I am so sick and tired of the stupid Angelo type drafts where
you draft smallish DTs in the 4th round. Like Woo Hoo! Where did
that get us? And how many failed? We have to upgrade the DL. We
have failed too many times. And where is that clown who could
jump out of a pool?

If that mock I saw was possible I'd do it whereby the Bears and
Jets hooked up and we dropped down 4 spots. Hageman was still
there and I don't remember who else, but they still had us
taking that LB from Alabama. I wouldn't be against that provided
we could use other picks along with our 2nd and move up ahead of
Minny who seems to want Hageman. We need a stud in the middle of
that DLine not some wimp that gets pushed around.

PS: I know there are Tommy Harris er Henry Melton fans here that
are hoping for his return. I think even if he is healthy which I
question, he is just an accident away from early retirement. We
cant get all glassy eyed about Melton.
