I really hope we can find a Ted Washington / Vince Wilfork /
Dontari Poe type of guy to anchor our line at DT this year. A
guy that will demand constant double teams (and frequently beat
them) and just wear opposing OLs out.
So tired of seeing our DTs run out of plays by single blocking
by O-Linemen who aren't even that good.
One thing that gives me a little hope about Tucker is that when
he was running the 4-3 in Jacksonville he had big DTs. Hopefully
in his postmortem talks with Emery and Trestman he convinced
them to get away from these 280-290 lb pipsqueaks that Lovie
liked at DT and get some widebodies in here that can play.

Well if Hageman goes, you figure Jernigan will also go, maybe
Nix. That might leave Ha Ha for us to scoop up.

Vince Wilfork in his heyday ... we could have had him.
2012 draft rolls around ... we pick.
N.E. picks Chandler Jones ... Dont'a Hightower. We could have
had Chandler Jones.
Whos in charge in 2014 for the draft ?

A bunch of mocks I have seen have a bunch of OTs and QBs going
in the early part of the draft. SOME def player is going to
fall to us who can make a difference. We just need to get the
right guy.

Mosely and Clinton-Dix both make me really nervous. Which is
strange to say as a Bama fan but it seems like those Bama
defensive guys don't live up to the hype once they get to the
next level.

The thing that scares me the most is that every GM in the league
knows the Bears are going to take a DT, its no secret. When all
the mocks come out with us taking Jernigan early the cat is out
of the bag. And the Stuper Bowl hasn't even played yet.

That's OK, let them think we're taking Jernigan and then we turn
around and take Hageman instead.
Also... it's not a stretch to think that Tampa Bay could reach
for Jernigan at 7. He is the prototypical Lovie Smith DT and
with the in-state college connection it could be too easy.

We need a DE just as badly. We could fool everyone and take DE
at 14.

Maybe we would if the DT we like is gone. But only a moron
doesnt know we are going DLine.

Can I ask a dumb question here? What ever happened to that DT
rookie from Montana that we had that never seemed to play? Is he
still with us and can he be coached up or is he just plain raw?
