A lot has been made of Jernigan's conditioning.Apparently he
had come down with the flu earlier in the week and was being
treated with medication. That should lay to rest any concerns of
conditioning. He still is the #1 DT in this draft in my
estimation. Hageman may be talented, but, has not excelled against
the toughest competition as has Jernigan. With that said I
wouldn't have a problem drafting him, just not ahead of Jernigan.
Now for my latest rendition of my mock. More consideration
going towards our run defense.
1) Tim Jernigan (DT)
2) Kyle Fuller (CB)
3) Shayne Skov (MLB)
4) Bryan Stork (C)
5) Jalen Saunders (WR)
6) Taylor Hart (DE)
6) Chris Borland (MLB) SS? There's gotta be a place for a guy
who flies all around the field making plays!

I think your WR pick should go for more D. If we keep Earl
Bennet, with Wilson, and that speedy cat we just picked up, plus
Weems, we have plenty of guys there. We need to hit on as many
D players as possible, so take as many as you can.

Alright,I succumb to your wisdom,at least for now. Take
Saunders out in the 5th and put in Taylor Hart (DE) Oregon. With
our two 6ths go with Borland and Andre Hal (CB).

Now if we knew that Boggs was going to be the heir apparent at C
we wouldn't need to draft one in the 4th. Just sayin...LOL

You gotta be slick to rebuild a BEARS defense with no money for
FA.
Only draft picks ? Frisco did it.

Unfortunately the idiot Tucker is returning so may not make much
difference who we draft. They ll be wasted regardless.

Tucker may or may not be an idiot. I can't decide based on one
year when half the team defense was on IR. I trust Emery and
Trestman to know a good coach when they see one.

Does anyone know why so many people seem to think the Bears
might take Bama MLB CJ Mosely in the 1st round?
Not that Mosely is a bad player but 14 for a MLB feels pretty
high unless he is Luke Kuechly caliber (which he's not, and I
say that as a Bama fan). Plus, we already spent 2 of our top 3
picks last year on LBs and the front 4 and safety positions need
upgrades in talent far worse.
Much better strategy as far as I'm concerned is focus the draft
on positions other than LB this year... solve MLB short-term by
re-signing DJ Williams or maybe signing Jon Beason to a 2-yr
deal if Emery is already convinced Bostic isn't smart enough to
make it at MLB. In which case Bostic had damn well better pan
out at one of the other LB spots.

What I'm reading as the reasoning behind our LB coach getting
the axe is how badly Bostic and Greene played their rookie
seasons and especially the fact they looked worse at the end of
the season than the beginning.
So you combine that with the DL coach getting canned (after a
2nd disappointing season for McClellin), and the message to
Bears' position coaches is pretty clear: if Emery spends a 1st
or 2nd round pick on a player for your unit, that kid had better
play well, and fast. Otherwise it's on you.
