University of Miami leads the N. C. State Wolfpack 2-1 in the
bottom of the 8th.
Trea Turner on the day is 1-4 with two groundouts, a pop out and
a duck snort single to right field.
....and now a stolen base by Turner.
...inning over. Going into the top of the 9th, Miami leads 2-1.

Miami beats N.C. State 2-1.
Carlos Rodon pinch hits in the 9th with a runner on third with
one out. Rodon taps to first unassisted, runner can't advance.
Next batter flies out to left center to end the game.
Trea Turner 1-4, two ground outs, a pop out, a stolen base and a
bloop single that falls in between the 2nd baseman & the right
fielder.

The U. of Miami Hurricanes beat the N.C. State Wolfpack 12-5 to
complete the sweep of a three-game series in Raleigh, N.C.
Trea Turner had two hits in this game - an infield single in the
1st and a double down the left field line in the 9th.
Carlos Rodon pinched hit again in this game. He grounded out to
2nd in the 8th.
For the weekend series, Trea Turner was 4 for 13, three singles,
a double, a RBI on a fielder's choice at third, a stolen base,
two strikeouts and an error in the field.

So is there any reason at all to believe that Turner is no
longer able to steal as he did his first college season?

I saw some of Jeff Hoffman's outing tonight. There's nothing
wrong with his stuff. His FB occasionally gets away from him but
he's 93-94 consistently and was hitting 97 well over the 100
pitch mark. Curve ball is pretty wicked too. Based on just one
viewing, I don't think he's at Jonathan Gray level, but I
wouldn't have a problem with the Cubs taking him at #4.

Chris, did you see the scoutingbaseball.com write up on Rodon,
Turner and Hoffman? Executive summary is that the writer says
Rodon is out of the conversation for #1 overall; he is not high
on Turner's speed or glove; he pretty much feels as you do about
Hoffman:
