LSU and most of the best teams haven't really played anybody
yet. I think Beede has faced Stanford and Hoffman has thrown
against Virgina.

Nola had a great sophomore year in the SEC. He's already shown
something.
Hoffman: 3-1/3 -2-3-3-7-6, 2 HB

I'll probably have to go to that one, then.

53.2 scoreless innings dates back to last season for Nola. He's
at 27 this year, during which he's allowed 18 base runners. So
about half of those innings were probably against quality
competition. He did allow unearned runs in each of his post
season starts though.

This is from Keith Law's chat today:
Ron (Gym)
Is Carlos Rodon overrated?
Klaw
(1:12 PM)
He hasn't pitched up to expectations - fastball has been
average, command average or a tick below, and he's not missing
bats. I thought a month ago he was the clear 1-1 pick, but now I
don't see it.
Ben (Leland Grove)
If Rodon is no longer the clear 1-1, has anyone moved ahead of
him, in your opinion?
Klaw
(1:27 PM)
I'll have a ranking up some time next week. I don't think
there's anyone who's clearly 1-1, but I think Rodon's been
passed by a few guys. Could make a cogent argument for him to be
behind any of Kolek, Gatewood, Jackson, Hoffman, Beede.

Also from Law today:
Brian (NJ) [via mobile]
Aaron Nola top 5 pick?
Klaw
(1:08 PM)
No shot. Good college pitcher in a draft loaded with great arms,
college and high school. Nola in the top 5 would be a huge
blunder.

We need to go pitcher this time around.
We need another Kerry Wood in this system.
