Packrat when I was expecting the Bears to lose I was going to
put a post in the Packers thread saying, "This must be how the
Packer fans felt when they lost against the Bears under Lovie
Smith...".
Glad I ended up not having to do that.

LOL. I'm glad also, Peke. I can relate to that. We all have
our anxious and scary moments.
If we are going to be playing for the division championship I'd
rather it would be between GB and Chicago.

thing thanks to Fox. Watching a radio broadcast on tv....not

And now this goddamn PITTSBURGH thing where Pittsburgh never
has to come to Soldiers ...
but we always have to go to Pittburgh.
Whens the last time Pittsburgh Steelers played at Soldiers ?

After watching the highlights. M. Bennett needs to get out of
bounds after making catch near end of game. That could have
been a huge blunder. Thankfully we still had enough time to
score that TD.

All week I was telling people, don't take the Vikings for
granted. They have significantly upgraded their talent this
offseason and had all the motivation in the world to beat us.
This had all the makings of a trap game and indeed we almost
fell into it, but somehow pulled out a miracle in the end.
The GOOD:
- Obviously, a 2nd clutch performance by Cutler and our offense
when it mattered
- GREAT utilization of Forte especially in the first half
- Great playcalling on offense except for the brain-dead pass
play that ended up intercepted
- Martellus Bennett is the real deal... worth every penny it
took to get him
- Alshon Jeffery continues to find his place in the offense;
he's got a ways to go yet before being considered an elite #2
but he is taking advantage of the opportunities he is given and
making D's account for him at least.
- Hester appears to be back in the groove. He clearly doesn't
have the speed of his younger days but he is seeing the holes
again and running with much more authority than we've seen in at
least a couple of years.
The BAD:
- D-line pass rush was MIA for the 2nd straight week; guys like
Rogers, Stafford and even Big Ben next week will kill our D if
our guys can't start winning the battles up front; Peppers and
Melton are the disappointments of the season so far and it's not
even close
- OL appeared to regress a bit, especially our OTs in pass
protection; Cutler had to make a plays on the move and Allen
straight owned Bushrod on that strip sack
The UGLY:
- Special teams return units did great but our coverage squads
were awful. 105-yd KO return on the opening kickoff plus a
couple of penalties for too many men on the field... really? I
don't think deCamillias is an awful ST coach but the discipline
and organization that Toub brought to that unit were noticeably
missing yesterday.
- Ridiculously bad play call on 1st and goal when we had been
killing them on the ground. Pass to stone-hands Maneri in triple
coverage? I don't think so.
Clutch win and glad to be 2-0 but you look at how we got to 2-0
compared to a team like the Broncos and it's clear we are a
couple notches below elite still. It is almost impossible to win
when you turn the ball over 4 times yet somehow we did but
that's not going to happen against most teams. I'm really glad
we don't face the Packers for awhile yet cause they looked
unstoppable yesterday.

There were a couple of long passes to Jeffery that he didn't
make. Be it coverage or the weather or whatever, I just hope
Jay doesn't stop throwing to him. And that he starts making
those long catches.
