Fantastic win by the Hawks. I have to admit I was not
optimistic after game 3, but I'm delighted to have been proven
wrong.

Still in shock over the last couple minutes of that game. Wow.
Was expecting a game 7 in Chi-Town tomorrow night. I think the
Hawks caught the Bruins off-guard a little bit, the Bruins
thinking they had it in the bag and just got overwhelmed there
at the end. What a finish.

After tying the game the Bruins won the ensuing face off and I'm
thinking the B's will go into a "prevent defense" slow the play
with D to D passes but the Hawks had different mind set,get
bodies in front of Ras, put pucks on the net, then BANG! Oduya
to Bolland,game ovah!!!! .....actually I blame the guy singing
the National Anthem doing his dumb schtick following the
conclusion of his rendition putting the curse on the B's chances
of winning the cup... ;D

It's so different watching the Hawks than any other Chicago
team. The Hawks seemed to always find a way to win. The rest
the opposite. Lots of fun.

It was cool that the winning goal was scored by a combo of
Kruger, Oduya, Frolik and Bolland. Hardly the limelight guys.
But a huge reason why the Hawks had the regular season they did,
and won the cup, was because of their depth.
Scottie Bowman's philosophy of playing the puck instead of
flying around trying to taking guys' heads off wins out again,
as it did in Detroit. And he also is a big believer in keeping a
core of guys and then bringing up guys from the minors (and the
Hawks have a top-10 system), and filing in with spare parts. The
Kane/Toews group has a few more years together...

Kane and Toews have one year left on their contracts. By the
time they are re-signed, the team will be in cap hell once
again. It's really unfortunate, but the Hawks are going to have
to go through this again.

Sharp has 4 and Hossa and Keith have forever.

I heard they can buy out Montador so they can keep Bickell.
Maybe they can find a taker for Bolland too.
But they do have several young guys to fill in. Things will
still be good next year although they might really miss Emery
next year.

I was thinking Kane and Toews had signed 4-year deals.
Hossa's contract eventually is going to be an albatross.
The Hawks recently signed a Finnish goalie who was the MVP of
his league and is an excellent prospect. He could backup
Crawford next year or perhaps need one year in the AHL.
I'd like to see Jeremy Morin get a permanent wing spot.
