It was reported by media members in both Phoenix (a beat writer
whose name escapes me) and Chicago (Bruce Levine).
Hendry chose to trade Theriot to the Dodgers in the Ted Lilly
deal because he liked Blake DeWitt and the pitchers the Dodgers
offered better than Johnson.

"The Cubs also have a possible deal with Arizona for second
baseman Kelly Johnson

The
Diamondbacks have asked for Ryan Theriot and left-handed pitcher
James Russell

in
return. The Cubs have been going back and forth on both deals,
knowing they can’t trade Theriot twice."

Yeah, I remember Levine reporting that...I just have a hard time
believing it was true. Cubs give up basically nothing for a guy
who was one of the top 2 or 3 second basemen in the NL last
year? Doesn't make sense.

Colvin walked again.
Soto struck out.
1-2 on Pena...he's had a really good spring after a slow start.
