I noticed when I paid for advertising on google many more google
bots coming by my old site.
Economically it is not going to bring you any new registers if
you go with a cheap budget setup like I did. But what it did do
was bring readers who were researching or curious about topics
they were searching for.
Depending on what you want to do with the site it can give you a
few options.
That was really helpful to me. My old site was research based.
So eventually my site got linked to other places, which in turn
increased readership.
Time spent on site was high per visitor. That also made people
who were doing research happier with the site, as it felt like
some people were actually reading things.
I think you can go as low as like 20 bucks a month, but doubt
you'll get new accounts right away, but you may get readers.

I have a lot of projects that run through google so ATM I am
leveraging the resources I have available. I think that somewhat
mirrors the hope I have but god knows what this place will turn
into. LOL. Being searchable will be a good start but the
analytics offered are really above what an online "community"
requires. Time will tell.
Right now my only goal is good times with no pretense.
