Jewelery too.
I'll try to post a new stones each day.
Feel free to post ones that resonate for you.
If i post a stone you like, if you wish to add to it, just quote
it and carry on.
I know a lot about stones, but there are so many new ones I
don't know about.
I hope to learn things I don't know.
Happy Rock Stars.

I'm actually not very fond of Malachite, but I just saw this and
had to save it.
Its huge.
About 18 inches high. Solid malachite, carved into skulls.
I actually know very little about malachite metaphysical
properties, so if anyone knows more..

So I'm starting with my very favorite stone, Moldavite.
I've been collecting it since I'm about 18 years old.
It's a tektite, ergo, it comes from outer space.
It's pretty much the only Gemstone from space..
It's called moldavite because it comes from a meteorite that
crashed in the Moldu Valley of what is now the Czech Republic.
It was molten when it crashed.
So much so bunches of it spashed upon impact.
The spashes end up in other countries.
Germany and the like. That's how huge this meteorite was.
The mines are pettering out now.
It's becoming more and more expensive, as it becomes more and
more popular, as quantities dwindle.
It can be raw,
HTML https://i.imgur.com/nDcbYMQ.jpg
polished,
HTML https://i.imgur.com/S3Lwxom.jpg
cut and faceted,
HTML https://i.imgur.com/UeFCRx4.jpg
or carved.
I have a carved moldavite skull, and a carved moldavite Ganesh.
I much prefer faceted stones myself.
I have rings, pendants, earrings, with moldavite stones.
My personal findings with moldavite are, that it connects you
directly to the "other side"
Wearing one to bed, or putting a piece under your pillow, will
induce surreal amazing vivid dreams.
I definately feel as if you go there, for real, in the dream.
Moldavites are the rarest of gems, perhaps more rare than
diamonds, rubies or emeralds. Moldavites have been prized for
over 25,000 years, since archaeologists have discovered
moldavite shards and pieces in cave dwellings of that era.
Moldavite Keys - Transformation, rapid spiritual evolution,
chakra activation, cleansing, protection, increased incidence of
synchronicities.
Chakras – All, especially Heart (4th) Third Eye (6th)
Moldavite is a rare bottle-green translucent stone of unearthly
origins. Scientists postulate that a meteor shower in the Moldau
Valley of Czechoslovakia some 15-20 million years ago caused
extra-terrestrial material to fuse with earthly rock formations
at very high heat, forming fused glass -- the only moldavite
known to exist. Moldavites are the rarest of gems, perhaps more
rare than diamonds, rubies or emeralds. Moldavites have been
prized for over 25,000 years, since archaeologists have
discovered moldavite shards and pieces in cave dwellings of that
era.
In his book Moldavites: The Czech Tektites, Professor Vladimir
Bouska states that "The first human being that was interested in
Moldavites was a Cro-Magnon man from the aurignacian age, i.e.,
the Upper Paleolithic. Several potsherds [fragments] of green
Moldavite glass were found together with the famous statue of
Venus of Willendorf, which is about 29,000 years old, at
Willendorf in Lower Austria."Moldavite is known as the "Grail
Stone".
Legends say that the Holy Grail was formed out of a green stone
that fell from Lucifer's crown as he descended from his heavenly
abode to Hell, impelled by the force of a blow from the sword of
Michael the Archangel. Until recently it was assumed the Grail
Stone was emerald, but recently metaphysical rockhounds have
suggested that the true Grail Stone is moldavite, a translucent
green gemstone that fell from the sky millions of years ago.
Moldavite activates any and all of the chakras and also opens
the mind to the limitless possibilities inherent in its cosmic
origins. Moldavite's energy tends to dissipate blocks throughout
the energy system and then center energy in the heart, opening
the heart to universal love
Moldavite is a tektite, and a stone of intense frequency and
high vibration. In ancient times it was thought to be a mystical
stone that could bring good luck and fulfillment of wishes.
They are remarkable healing crystals for you to bring into play
in your life as they have an amazing energy that helps to create
change in your life once you begin to utilize their vibration.
They are one of the best stones to use for psychic protection as
negative entities find it difficult to connect to your aura when
you are wearing one.
A meteorite of enormous size is known to have crashed in the
Czechoslovakian mountain region about 15 million years ago. Its
impact is said to have had more power than an atomic explosion.
This amazing stone was created by the heat of an incredible
impact that had extraordinary force. Its aero-dynamic shape
suggests that in all likelihood this attractive green stone fell
from the heavens.
These crystals were found close to the area where this impact
occurred. This event is believed to have produced melted
material that fell to earth and created these beautiful green
crystals.
These stones often have dark inclusions within them and it has
been suggested that this may be a combination of meteoric matter
and material from the area where it crashed.
The heat generated may have melded them together. Note: that
although some scientists believe it to be of extra-terrestrial
origin, this cannot be confirmed.
There is a variety of this stone that comes from near the
village of Besednice which is also located in the same
Czechoslovakian region.
The Besednice Moldavite varies a little, as they are quite
beautiful lacy crystals, slightly different in form than other
types of this stone, but still with the amazingly strong energy.
Stimulates Change and Transformation!
Moldavite crystals have a powerful crystal energy, that is known
for its action to stimulate highly beneficial occurrences of
coincidence and synchronicity in your life.
This is a high vibration crystal that is very beneficial to aid
you to more easily receive messages from the higher realms. Very
powerful!
They are potent healing crystals for you to use as they can
create an amazing healing response in the individual, and can be
a powerful catalyst for making changes in personal
relationships.
Often they are grouped with other stones of a high vibration and
these combinations can be very powerful. These high energy
crystals raise the vibration of other stones in its vicinity,
which creates an overall stronger healing vibration.
What does this green stone do? It has a number of excellent
metaphysical properties including:
Warning: Not everyone find these stones comfortable to use. When
someone picks up one of these unusual crystals, the most common
reaction that most people feel first is a tingling in the hand,
which spreads out into the bodyOften the reaction is then felt
in the chest, in the area of the heart chakra, and then in the
face, as an intense heat flushMany people feel an intense heat
when they wear it or even hold it for the first time.
This intense reaction is so common that it has been given a
specific name, called "The Moldavite Flush" It is an extremely
powerful crystal, and is a stone of rapid transformation and
shifts
It is known to help you to release old intense, and painful
thoughts. It is common for it to give you a reaction when you
first use it, such as dizziness and feeling sort of odd or
somewhat different to normal.
As a healing crystal it is a valuable tool. These high crystal
energy stones have an intense frequency and high vibration which
makes them a 'must have' for any who are on the spiritual path.
Warning: I suggest that you may like to limit how long you wear
Moldavite jewelry at the beginning until you adapt to it.
This transformation may make you aware of your deepest desires
and help you to make connections with other worlds and
dimensions.
Definitely an amazing healing crystal with an action to bring
deep spiritual growth.
Some people have difficulty with the vibration of this stone,
but the impact can vary from person to person and each
individual will be affected in different ways.
Using this stone in meditation is very powerful if you are
working on developing psychic abilities.
One of its best assets is that it is a protective stone. Wearing
this stone is an advantage when you are working with spirit, so
you can be sure that what you are making contact with is of 'the
light'.
This may take different forms, as this beautiful green stone can
affect any or all of the chakras. But it major effect is on the
heart chakra, which resonates the vibration of love.
If you wear this crystal anywhere on your body, or hold a piece
of this powerful transforming crystal in your hand during
meditation, you may experience a more powerful and meaningful
experience.
Two special areas of the brain, the Amygdala and the Anterior
Cingulate Cortex are said to be connected with developing any
psychic abilities
Using this green crystal in combination with isochronic tones is
helpful as it is a high crystal energy stone.
During meditation it may be used on its own or with other
crystals as it will also raise the vibration of other stones
that it is combined with.
In particular you may choose to use it if you wish to discover
how to be psychic, meditation is a one of the ways that you can
start on this path.
It may stimulate kundalini arousal, and another common outcome
from its use is to help you to make contact with your spirit
guides, as it is a powerful stone to enhance any of your psychic
gifts.
One drawback going on right now, is that tons of fake moldavite
is flooding the market.
Demand is high. Unscrupulous people are cashing in on the
moldavite boom
Urs all over eBay and the like.
It's a huge problem. I can spot a fake piece from a mile away,
but not everyone can.
Here's an article with the how tos of fake moldavite.

Space Stones - Gems That Originated in Outer Space
Black Diamonds Came From Space!
Black diamonds are becoming an increasingly popular gemstone
thanks to where they originated. They are created in space!
After years of wondering where these gorgeous black diamonds
came from scientists confirmed with infrared instruments that
they are formed because of a supernova exploding.
Unlike conventional diamonds, the black diamonds were not formed
hundreds of miles below the surface of the Earth where the
conditions turn carbon into the diamonds that many of us wear as
accessories. Black diamonds are only found in certain parts of
the world including Africa and Brazil and are thought to have
travelled to Earth with meteorites and distributed during the
billions of years since they came over specific areas.
Iron Meteorites Fell to Earth
Gemstones that have fallen to Earth have for many years been a
fascination and possibly even a fear for mankind who did not
understand how they got there. Of course, not being created on
Earth they have major significance when it comes to science. The
materials they are made from are rare making them a major
commodity. Lots of meteorites that come from space are so small
and attractive they can be used in their original state. Take
iron meteorites for example. They are created from iron alloys
and nickel which makes them perfect to become either gemstones
by being cut and polished or set into the metal pieces of
jewellery.
Opal on Mars Proves Water on Mars
In July 2015, the Mars rover detected small amounts of Opal on
the planet’s surface. Opal is significant to understand how the
red planet works because Opal consists mostly of water. The
discovery of Opal confirms the theory that water once existed on
the planet Mars.
Asteroid Diamonds in Russia
Diamonds are formed under extreme heat and pressure deep within
the Earth core. However, these same conditions can be found on
the surface of the planet during extreme events such as Asteroid
impacts.
In Russia, there is a crater called The Popigai Crater that is
the result of an Asteroid impact. Inside this crater is the
largest known deposit of Diamonds in the world. These Russian
diamonds formed when the Asteroid hit the Earth. Unfortunately,
the Diamonds are not gem grade so they cannot be used for
jewelry but they are used in industrial applications.
Space Peridot Gemstones AKA Palladot
Peridot is one of the first every treasured gemstone and was
called a sun gem by the Egyptians who first found a deposit on a
Red Sea Island. Today it can be sourced in numerous other places
including the United States and Pakistan where many of the best
specimens have been found.
It was only half a century ago that a huge meteorite was found
in Argentina containing a great number of the sought after
peridot crystals. Most of it was bought by an American collector
and divided to be sold. Elements can be found by using special
laser beams and spectrometry which test for amounts of lithium,
vanadium, cobalt, manganese, nickel and zinc. This lets both
researchers and purchasers known more about the gems origin.
Tekttites And Moldavite
The original Moldavite stone is olive green and is formed of a
result of an asteroid hitting the Earth 15 million years ago.
The velocity and heat allowed the rock to break and spread
throughout Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. The
sediments that are found today are usually just a few
centimetres and are commonly called impactites. The quality
moldavite is sold more often as a jewellery gem. Collectors
usually purchase the uncut versions. It is a brittle gem which
makes it better for use in earrings and jewellery that is not
likely to break with wear such as bracelets.
Libyan Desert Glass
Libyan desert glass is found in the Libyan desert and dates to
26 million years ago. There are numerous theories about how this
glass formed but the most common theory is that a meteorite was
responsible for flash melting material on the surface of the
desert and creating glass. This is a similar process t how glass
is made from melting sand.

I'm not a huge fan of amber, but I have a few pieces...
Both are very old.
Over 100 years old.
The ring is from the late 1800s.
The pendant from the 1910s
The ring is 18k gold, with 2 baby diamonds, an amber, with
lovely inclusions, and the black stone is tektite meteor,
polished.
Its a size 3.5 . I'm lucky than I have super tiny fingers.
I get all the good rings size 3.5 to 5 because of it.
They don't fit many other girls here...
:chuckle:

The pendant is a huge amber heart.
Old and beat up.
Its hard to see inside the amber, because it's so scratched up.
It was like that when I bought it.
Its very thick, and there's all kinds of stuff inside.
Hard to see.

HTML https://i.imgur.com/trmoEjB.jpg[/img]
At the very top under the bezel, is a silver configuration that
looks like 2 lillies kissing. To me anyway.
The setting is sterling, and very unusual.
Then 3 pyramid shaped garnets, and one tear drop shaped opal.
The opal is tiny but spectacular. The fire... Because it's old
and from amazing mines I'd guess.
There was one more stone. It pointed down from the hearts base
below the opal.
It was an incredible alexandrite.
It broke off.
I never had it reattached.
My bad.
Sadly, the lighting really doesn't capture the pendants full
beauty.

So, today's rock will be amber.
I know very little of its metaphysical properties.
Just what it is.
If anyone is into amber, please do post pictures and anecdotes.

I'm not so much into amber, but I do know a bit about it.
It is actually fossilized tree resin from extinct coniferous
trees.
It is usually a golden orange, and rarely violet, green, blue
and black
The highest valued amber contains some foreign inclusion like an
insect, lichens, moss or a leaf, etc.
The Greeks knew the Baltic sea or referred to it as the Amber
sea. It would wash up on shore after storms.
One of the few stones that can be charged with electricity.
There are ancient Arabic tales of Amberabad (amber city) in
Jinnistan (fairy land)
In Norse mythology is is said to be the solidified tears of the
Goddess Freyja.
Freyja also had/has a famous necklace of Amber made by the
Brisinga men. (dwarfs)
Greek elixir of immortality (ambrosia) which is along the same
lines as Sif and her golden apples of immortality.
Magically, it is said to deepen meditation, sooth the nerves and
the spirit, and its vibration is good at connecting the
subconscious to past lives and open pathways to harmonize either
negative or positive connections to those past lives.
Basically, if you have a negative character trait that stems
from another life it can be minimized or a positive trait can be
enhanced.
I don't own any amber, or else I would share a picture.
That's about all I can remember :)

There's also the amber room of the russian czars.
Dismantled and stolen by the Nazi's.
The panels are still out there somewhere.
A painting of the amber room.
HTML https://i.imgur.com/OaDEHVh.jpg
The Amber Room (Russian:
Янтарная
комната, tr.
Yantarnaya Komnata, German: Bernsteinzimmer, Polish: Bursztynowa
komnata) is a reconstructed chamber decorated in amber panels
backed with gold leaf and mirrors, located in the Catherine
Palace of Tsarskoye Selo near Saint Petersburg. Constructed in
the 18th century in Prussia, the original Amber Room was
dismantled and eventually disappeared during World War II.
Before its loss, it was considered an "Eighth Wonder of the
World". A reconstruction was installed in the Catherine Palace
between 1979 and 2003.
The Amber Room was intended in 1701 for the Charlottenburg
Palace, in Berlin, Prussia, but was eventually installed at the
Berlin City Palace. It was designed by German baroque sculptor
Andreas Schlüter and Danish amber craftsman Gottfried Wolfram.
Schlüter and Wolfram worked on the room until 1707, when work
was continued by amber masters Gottfried Turau and Ernst Schacht
from Danzig (Gdańsk). It remained in Berlin until 1716,
when it was given by the Prussian King Frederick William I to
his then ally, Tsar Peter the Great of the Russian Empire. In
Russia, the room was expanded, and after several renovations, it
covered more than 55 square metres (590 sq ft) and contained
over 6 tonnes (13,000 lb) of amber.
The Amber Room was looted during World War II by the Army Group
North of Nazi Germany, and brought to Königsberg for
reconstruction and display. Its current whereabouts remain a
mystery. In 1979, efforts were undertaken to rebuild the Amber
Room at Tsarskoye Selo. In 2003, after decades of work by
Russian craftsmen and donations from Germany, the reconstructed
Amber Room was inaugurated at the Catherine Palace.

Magnetite in the human body: Biogenic vs. anthropogenic
Magnetite is an iron-oxide mineral that occurs naturally on
Earth. Because it is also an important component of many
anthropogenic materials (e.g., coal fly ash) and synthetic
products (e.g., black toner powders), magnetite can be released
to the environment through human activities (1). In PNAS, Maher
et al. (2) describe the abundant presence in the human brain of
magnetite nanoparticles, some of which they attribute to air
pollution. This finding could have major implications.
Magnetite belongs to the spinel group. It crystallizes in the
cubic crystal system (Fig. 1) and can be described by the
general formula Fe2+Fe3+2O4 (3). Magnetite is a common natural
phase, occurring in various geological environments, ranging
from igneous (e.g., layered ultrabasic rocks, basalts) to
sedimentary (e.g., banded iron formations, beach sands) rocks,
and to high-grade metamorphic rocks (e.g., schists, skarns),
where it can be produced through a multitude of chemical
reactions. Due to its tendency to react with oxygen to form
hematite (Fe2O3) and various iron oxyhydroxides (e.g.,
ferrihydrite, goethite), magnetite can be used as a powerful
tool to explore oxygen concentrations in rocks during geological
processes, changes in the oxygen content of the atmosphere
(e.g., early Earth), and redox conditions in near-surface
environments (e.g., oxic-anoxic transition zone). Because
magnetite is ferrimagnetic, it represents a phase that is
essential for paleomagnetic investigations, which help in
reconstructing plate tectonics through Earth’s history.
Biogenic, chemically pure magnetite crystals occur in the bodies
of a wide range of organisms within the kingdoms of the Monera,
Protista, and Animalia (e.g., magnetotactic microbes, insects,
molluscs, fish, birds, mammals) (4). In these organisms,
magnetite forms the basis for one type of biophysical mechanism
of magnetic field detection, which facilitates orientation and
navigation (5, 6). In the human brain, magnetite is also
believed to precipitate biologically as part of the iron
metabolism (7), but now, in PNAS, Maher et al. (2) suggest that
it can originate from an external source.
Air pollution comprises not only gases (e.g., nitrogen oxides,
ozone, sulfur dioxide) but also solid particles, which range in
size from a few nanometers to several micrometers. These
particles, known as particulate matter (PM), are generated
through both natural processes and human activity, and are
emitted directly into, or formed within, the atmosphere. As a
result of atmospheric circulation, the airborne particles in a
given environment can be derived from both local and distant
sources, such as dry lakes, deserts, fires, smoke stacks,
traffic, or mining operations. Magnetite is an abundant
constituent of atmospheric PM pollution, especially in the urban
environment (8), where it has been identified in diesel exhaust,
as brake-abrasion particles, in the air of underground stations,
along railway lines, at welding workplaces, and in the emissions
from industrial combustion processes.
In addition to having major atmospheric, environmental, and
ecological impacts (8), airborne PM may have adverse health
effects, both acute and chronic, because with each breath,
millions of solid particles, including magnetite, can enter our
respiratory system. Once inhaled, coarse particles (generally
defined as particles with a diameter >2.5 μm) may be
deposited on the surfaces of the conducting airways of the upper
respiratory system, whereas smaller particles (<2.5 μm
across, PM2.5) can migrate to the deepest parts of the lung
where the gas exchange takes place (9). Ultrafine particles
(<100 nm), or nanoparticles, may penetrate through the cell
tissue that lines the respiratory tract and translocate into the
blood circulation and into extrapulmonary organs, but also, via
the olfactory nerve, into the central nervous system (10). In
PNAS, Maher et al. (2) invoke this latter mechanism for the
transfer of air pollution-derived magnetite nanoparticles to the
brains of the studied individuals. These authors use the mostly
spherical shapes of the magnetite as one of the main arguments
for their hypothesis: Spherical shapes are typical of
combustion-derived particles (e.g., in diesel exhaust) in
contrast to abrasion-derived particles (e.g., brake-wear
particles), which are typically irregularly shaped and angular,
or to endogenous particles, which tend to be euhedral because
they grew in situ (e.g., within the brain) (7). The electron
microscope images presented by Maher et al. (2) document that
two types of magnetite, spherical and euhedral, are present in
the studied brains, suggesting that they were derived from two
different sources, one external (from air pollution) and one
internal (i.e., biogenic). This conclusion is further supported
by the presence of other transition-metal nanoparticles, which
are common in airborne PM from polluted areas.
One of the questions that arises from the discovery of
externally derived magnetite in brain tissue is whether or not
the abundant additional magnetite adversely affects human
health. It is well known from epidemiological and toxicological
studies that exposure to PM2.5 is linked to increases in
mortality and hospital admissions due to respiratory and
cardiovascular diseases (11). There is increasing evidence that
coarser particles may also produce deleterious health effects
(12). In addition to being dependent on size, however, the
interactions are influenced by other particle characteristics,
including structure, chemical composition, shape, surface area
and reactivity, sorptive properties, and solubility. The adverse
health effects include chronic bronchitis, exacerbation of
asthma, fibrosis, and lung cancer (13). The mechanisms behind
these diseases, as well as their dependence on particle
properties, are still poorly known. The most likely mechanisms
involve the excessive production of free radicals [e.g.,
reactive oxygen species (ROS)], which can lead to oxidative
damage to cell membranes, proteins, and DNA, as well as to the
release of chemical substances that trigger and perpetuate
inflammation (14, 15).
In regard to the human health effects of magnetite, published
data exist for both the brain and the respiratory system. For
example, the presence in the brain of magnetite may be linked to
several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s
disease, and oxidative stress appears to play a key role in the
pathogenesis (16, 17). In vitro experiments with human lung
cells, which were exposed for 24 h to different magnetite size
fractions (including nanoparticles) and doses, revealed that the
studied particles, although being only slightly cytotoxic, led
to increased ROS formation, mitochondrial damage, and genotoxic
effects (18). The results allowed for the conclusion that ROS
formation plays an important role in the genotoxicity of
magnetite in lung cells. On the other hand, magnetite
nanoparticles might be considerably less toxic when
surface-modified (i.e., coated) (19).
The presence of magnetite in humans, however, also has other
potential implications, including possible biological disorders
linked to the weak magnetic fields generated by cellular phones,
electric power lines, and appliances, or high-field saturation
effects from exposure to strong magnetic fields during MRI
procedures (7). At the same time, nanoparticles of magnetite are
of special interest in the biomedical sciences, because they can
be used as carriers for targeted drug delivery (20). Moreover,
magnetite nanoparticles can be exploited for hyperthermia-based
cancer therapy, where the heat induced by application of an
alternating magnetic field causes necrosis of cancer cells but
does not damage the surrounding normal tissue (21). Various
researchers have further proposed that endogenous magnetite
might play a key role in perception, transduction, and long-term
storage of information in the human brain and in other organisms
(22).
The occurrence of magnetite in cell tissues therefore represents
an intriguing dichotomy: On the one hand, the mineral can play a
key role in magnetoreception and navigation, and thus survival,
of various types of organisms, and on the other hand, it can
impart deleterious effects in humans, especially when they are
exposed to high PM concentrations in polluted urban
environments.
