       Can't say I've ever listened to any of his solo stuff ...

       he was known for bringing the songs in complete and whole to the
       band. If the others liked it they rerecorded it and turned it
       into gold. not that it wasn't refined before, it's just as a
       band they made it stronger together while bringing out the best
       in each other.

       Reminds me of A band I know .
       I met him once briefly .Just a hi nice to meet you encounter .
       Only one of them I ever met .
       Many years ago .
       A girl a knew was friends with him.
       He showed up at The Ritz (later Webster Hall) one night to meet
       her.
       I forget who was playing...
