From what I can gather ,a shooting took place at a protest in
Albuquerque, New Mexico Monday evening as armed protesters and
armed counter-protesters with the New mexico Civil Guard
gathered at a statue that protesters wanted removed.
       4 shots fired .
Ambulance didn't come for quite a while .Utter chaos ensued.
Civilians AND national guard arrested by police .
No one is sure who fired the shots .
I'm still trying to ascertain what the statue is of ,and why its
       so offensive .

       New Mexicos "conquistador".
Not even anything remotely BLM related .
Just an excuse to protest and be asdholes en masse.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A protester was shot at Tiguex Park Monday
evening during a demonstration that was calling for the removal
of a Juan de Oņate statue, "La Jornada", outside the Albuquerque
       Museum.

The injured man was transported to the hospital for treatment.
He is listed in critical but stable condition.

Moments before protesters were about to remove the statue with a
chain, a struggle broke out among the crowd.
Video footage shows the protesters directing their attention
toward a man brandishing a gun.
"Get his license plate," screamed one protester in the video.
       "Follow him."
A group of protesters pulled the subject to the ground. After a
few seconds of struggle, the subject shot his gun four times.
Police officers in riot gear arrived shortly afterwards.
A number of members with the New Mexico Civil Guard, a
self-described militia, were seen being arrested along with the
subject who fired at the protesters.
Law enforcement deployed tear gas and non-lethal projectiles to
try to push back the group of protesters.
Protesters continued to try to pull down the statue of Oņate
while others attempted to let air out of the tires of police
       transport vans.
At around 9:20 p.m., the crowd began to disperse—leaving the
       statue intact.
       An investigation is currently underway.
       And the kicker ..
It was advertised as a "prayer gathering".

The statue at the center of Monday’s protest in Albuquerque is
part of a controversial sculpture called “La Jornada,” which
depicts Onate, known for the 1599 massacre of a pueblo tribe,
leading a group of Spanish settlers into what is now New Mexico.
Wtf does this have to do with BLM .
       Oh yeah ,NOTHING .
Spanish vs Native Americans in the 16th century . and
RETRIBUTION for those Indians killing Spaniards FIRST .
Its the history of the area . Wtf is wrong with these people .
Indians killed and raped 1000s of whites too .Or has everyone
       forgotten that little fact.?

Juan de Oņate y Salazar (Spanish: [ˈxwan de
oˈɲate] (About this soundlisten); 1550–1626) was a
Spanish conquistador from New Spain, explorer, and colonial
governor of the province of Santa Fe de Nuevo México in the
viceroyalty of New Spain. He led early Spanish expeditions to
the Great Plains and Lower Colorado River Valley, encountering
numerous indigenous tribes in their homelands there. Oņate
founded settlements in the province, now in the Southwestern
       United States.
Today Oņate is known for the 1599 Acoma Massacre. Following a
dispute that led to the death of thirteen Spaniards at the hands
of the Ácoma, including Oņate's nephew, Juan de Zaldívar, Oņate
ordered a brutal retaliation against Acoma Pueblo. The Pueblo
was destroyed.[2] Around 800–1000 Ácoma were killed.
Of the 500 or so survivors, at a trial at Ohkay Owingeh, Oņate
sentenced most to twenty years of forced "personal servitude"
and additionally mandated that all men over the age of
twenty-five have a foot cut off.[3] He was eventually banished
from New Mexico and exiled from Mexico City for five years,
convicted by the Spanish government of using "excessive force"
       against the Acoma people.
Today, Oņate remains a controversial figure in New Mexican
history: in 1998 the right foot was cut off a statue of the
conquistador that stands in Alcalde, New Mexico in protest of
the massacre, and significant controversy arose when a large
equestrian statue of Oņate was erected in El Paso, Texas in
       2006.
On June 15 2020, the statue of Oņate in Alcalde, New Mexico was
officially removed by Rio Arriba County workers at the direction
       of officials.[6]
