It's 7:15 pm Saturday night, January 5, and it looks like the
birth of Lorelai's kittens is pretty close. Lorelai, for those
who don't (yet) follow TinyKittens, was rescued from a hoarder
along with her teenage daughter from her first litter, Rory.
Thankfully, Rory isn't pregnant and will be spayed very soon.
Moma Lorelai is close to birth, possibly tonight, and Shelly
comes in and spends time with her. She will be there to help her
through the birth because there is a risk of Neonatal
Isoerythrolysis (fatal blood type mismatch). Shelly will blood
type each kitten as soon as it is born; it is the only way to
ensure the safety of each kitten.

Five totally adorable babies, all delivered in about 2.5 hours
and all type B blood!

Yes, we now have Nelia's kittens (almost two weeks old) and as
of the night before last, Serenity's kittens. I worry when I see
Shelly's hand because Serenity hates the blanket over her face
and I always fear she will lash out. But things do seem a bit
better as Shelly has weighed the kittens at least twice now.

on him.
I am so glad you experienced all the good the world can offer,
especially laps. Please know so many loved you. All of us will
miss you very much.

It was amazing to watch Shelly spend all that time trying to
trap the mom too. Did you know she is allergic to both cats and
hay? Sniffling a bit tonight. And they now have names. The mom
is Eternity; I adore her even though her look of terror makes me
sad. I hope she comes around to love Shelly very soon.
I think with Shelly's cats that makes a total of 27 in residence
now. I hope the other kittens that are ready to go find great
furever homes quickly.
