For some hilarious reading about real Thanksgiving stories,
Houzz has two threads well worth spending time with:

It's fiction, of course, but anyone who likes to laugh at how
things can go wrong on the holidays MUST read or listen to "Dave
Cooks the Turkey".

OH YES!! He has another Christmas one too, which I think is
where the wrong bowl of punch gets spiked. But the turkey one is
so funny!! Highly recommend Stuart McLean. Listening is better
than reading, I think, he's a good speaker.

My mother once bought a turkey with the little red button in the
side that pops out when it's done. It popped out, and the
outside looked good, so we sat down-to find the turkey was
practically raw. I believe we ate the sides, so they wouldn't
get cold or runny, and put the turkey in for a couple more
hours.
Another Thanksgiving, she did everything right but had tried a
"turkey loaf", just like a meatloaf of turkey. That year, we
had sides and pizza from someplace.

My holiday oopsie (the one I can think of right now - there's
plenty more, I'm sure, haha) occurred when I was still too young
to even remember it.
I was a climber as a kid, and I loved Christmas decorations. My
older sister had a beautiful ceramic Christmas tree that was
gifted to her by one of our great-grandmothers shortly before
she died, which was before I was born. Every year we put it out
on display. One year, I decided to climb onto the table that
housed the tree and its accompanying village - and promptly
knocked the tree off the table, breaking it. :( All's well that
ends well though, as our Grandma was able to put it back
together (luckily it only broke into two or three pieces instead
of shattering). My older sister gifted it to one of our aunts a
few years ago and she still displays it. I took a good look at
it this past Christmas season, and you can't even see where it
had been broken. :)

I was in Japan with some good friends. We had spent a few
minutes salivating over a food hall, but one friend kept
ordering us away from all the delicious food shouting, no we’re
going out for breakfast, don’t fill up now. We found a little
cafe and looked at the plastic bowls representing the food on
offer. A chap left and said you must try this, it’s delicious.
Due to an ordering miscommunication we ordered 12 small bowls. I
took the first bite. It consisted of fridge cold soba noodles
and soy sauce.
We ate it all and honestly it kept us happy until about 4pm, but
delicious it was not. We still laugh about it and it’s an inside
joke.

Perhaps not an "Oopsie" but I think it's funny. Enjoy! ;D
