       a few years back,one of my local supermarkets got some
       self-check out machines. Even though I used self-checkouts at
       other stores (And still do), I could not do it without help at
       that supermarket. So I stopped using it and went to the human
       checkout. If they had said something about using self-checkout,
       I was prepared to say something like "Your self-checkout doesn't
       like me. Don't know why. Self-checkout's at other stores like
       me. Not yours. I don't go where I'm not wanted." Was kinda
       bummed I never had a chance to say it.
       Never had a chance 'cause they got rid of them. I suspect I
       wasn't the only human those machines disliked.
       Bet you're not the only one there too.
