       I got the impression everyone in the photos was either directly
       related to the bride or groom (sibling, parent, child,
       grandparent of the people getting married) or in the wedding
       party. I wouldn’t attribute malice or exclusion when it is
       reasonable to want the photos as they were taken.

       I think culture matters in this scenario.  If I recall
       correctly, OP’s husband comes from a family with similar
       cultural values to my own.  It would be unthinkable that an
       uncle would be left out of family pictures at an important
       occasion.  Even if the bride and groom wanted pictures with just
       the immediate relations, we would do that and then also do
       pictures with the rest of the family.  I can see why they are
       hurt.  I would remind OP that it seems like the family does care
       about them generally and they simply may not realize the import
       of this to you.  I would do your best, hard as it is, to not
       take it to heart.
