Conference swag - what's your favorite?

At my job, we will soon be under new leadership. As part of my
duties, I'm researching options for new office "swag' - the
goodies we give away at the many conferences we attend. Small
items for mass offering, not higher-end giveaways. You know the
stuff - logo-imprinted lip balm, hand sanitizer, koozies...
Research has shown that the more useful an item is, the more
people mentally connect it with your business. And some of the
items we currently offer are very popular, so we'll probably
adapt them to the new branding and keep them. But we're also
wanting shiny new toys.
Since there's a wide swath of work backgrounds here, I'd love to
have some of your opinions. If/when you attend conferences, what
are the items you like the most, and that you are most likely to
pick up/use/remember the business that provided them? I'm
personally addicted to lip balms and flashlights. You?

I like hand sanitizer and lip balm. I know the cell phone
wallets and popsockets are popular; I, personally, don't use
them because I have a case and phone ring that I like on my
phone.
I've also gotten little sunscreens and loved those.
My phone has a flashlight, so I won't even pick those up. I just
got a koozie at a conference and it's still in my bag.

Probably NOT helpful to your research, but I usually avoid
taking the "do-dad's" when I can. This is most especially true
when I need to fly home afterwards, as sometimes the items don't
fit into the luggage.
However, I am more likely to keep usable things. Pens (but nice
writing, non-leaking ones), notepads, sure... hand sanitizer and
lip balm. Although, I have tons of all of those. However, if you
gave me sticky notes, I would jump for joy!!! =)

Sticky notes are a wonderful idea on several levels. Not only
does the conference attendee see your company, when the notes
are used, others also see it.
Another useful and neat gift is one we received some years ago.
It’s a miniature flashlight attached to a key ring.

The swag that I like best are little toys - the kinds of things
that occupy my hands when I'm working through a problem. My
favorite is the Tangle

but really,
anything I can handle mindlessly while I'm trying to think is
best for me.

I also like notepads, sticky or not-sticky. I skip most things;
I have more than enough free water bottles, pens, etc.
Right now there are 3 things I've taken and still use:
a tote bag
a credit card pocket that sticks to the back of my phone. This
won't work with a pop socket, but I use mine all the time. It
actually isn't from a conference, though. It's from my dentist.
A business card holder, like a tiny billfold for my purse. I
have some business cards (which seem to be going extinct) in it,
but I especially like it for my travel-related cards: airport
parking card, Chicago Ventra card, business credit card, etc.
Everything I need for most trips in one little case.
I also got some rubbery bookmarks once that were nice. They kind
of wrap around the book and mark the page. My kids nabbed all of
them.

I want nothing so I avoid taking anything. If I am handed a bag
I make sure I put it where someone else can take it.

I like small food items with the vendor's info on it. Went to a
conference in Kansas City and got a small bottle of local
barbeque sauce with the vendor info attached. Coffee, bottle of
water, snacks. I've gotten nice pairs of workout socks with the
vendor's logo on them - still use them! Another vote for lip
balm, lotion, hand sanitizer. I wonder if anyone makes a travel
tissue holder you can put your logo on?

Things I like:
Coin purse
Tote bag
Stylus
Passport holder (very useful for the business traveler!)
Snacks with the company logo on the wrapper
Another fun thing I liked was a pocket mirror the size of a
credit card.

Recently we got tiny little battery operated alarm clocks.
Very, very convenient because for some reason lots of hotels
have stopped putting clocks in the rooms. Apparently they
assume we all wear alarm capable watches or that we use the
alarm feature on our phones. Some of us don't.
