I don't even want to watch my own wedding video! It seems like
a waste of money, but it's no skin off my nose as long as I'm
not being forced to attend.

If this catches on, I feel very sorry for young people in the
marrying-age range. If they don't have a wedding to go to that
weekend, they'll have a wedding-video-viewing party to go to.

A family get together with no sales pressure--sure I would
attend.
A get together to see a freinds' sons wedding probably not

If I was there for the wedding, I don’t need to see it again,
although I am happy to flick through a photo album as good
photographers produce genuine artistry.
I went to a very tasteful and enjoyable reception for a couple
who got married in the country where their families were based.
They hosted a lovely party to celebrate their marriage with
friends on their return to Australia. Part of the festivities
was the showing of a short video of their wedding, which was
very interesting due to the cultural and religious customs of
their country.
Otherwise, I would rather clean my cat’s litter box than attend
a viewing party for a wedding video. I have no beef with people
who want to spend their money on that sort of thing, but it just
isn’t my style.
One photographer shows 900-1400 photos at a
viewing.
Holy Cow. I don't know anyone who would sit
through that. If alcohol was served, things could be getting
pretty ugly by slide #300.
I think that the wedding industry is trying to convince brides
and grooms that they need all of this extraneous stuff. Then for
some reason that I can't figure out, media outlets, like the New
York Times, do articles about the extraneous stuff, convincing
people that it is a "thing".
I doubt if anyone I know would put on something like this. If I
were invited to one, I'd be busy that day.
