       I agree with others (and now the OP  :):) that she should just
       treat the child like any other child and not bring up any
       perceived disability.  This was a long time ago and I don't
       remember details, but there was a story on the other board where
       a poster felt weird that her friend wasn't discussing what the
       poster felt were her friend's child's obvious delays, so she
       brought it up and her friend was extremely offended.  If I
       recall correctly it ended the relationship.  Whatever this
       child's situation is, I'm sure the parents are well aware of it
       and dealing with it in their own way.

       Yeah, If I remember correctly, the mom called her after she
       actually did get an evaluation and was really happy that the
       doctor said nothing was wrong and the poster just told her to
       get a second opinion.
