Rude to not eat dinner at a theater that offers meals?

A Studio Movie Grill just opened in our neighborhood. (BG: It's
a movie theater that serves appetizers and dinners during the
show. Servers walk about during the show taking orders,
delivering meals and refilling drinks.)
This theater is much closer and nicer than our other nearby
theaters and they have super comfy seats with a lot more room.
The problem is that DH and I try to eat healthy, he's a
vegetarian, and we either just don't care for or can't eat the
types of entrees and apps on their menu. They may (not sure)
have popcorn on the menu.
Would it be rude to go to this type of theater and only order
popcorn and sodas like a regular theater? It seems iffy to me,
given the servers and "Grill" in the name of the theater, so we
haven't gone yet. Thoughts?

Not Rude...often the tickets are a little more
expensive...usually these places have popcorn on the menu.

Not rude at all. In my (admittedly limited) experience, just as
at a regular theater, many (most?) don't order anything. I
ordered because I *could*; not because I felt it was incumbent
upon me.
I don't remember whether the tickets were a premium cost (I was
going with a group, and my ticket was paid for by someone else),
but the food and drinks were delivered to our seats and paid for
separately from the theater ticket.

Not at all: any more than it's rude to stay in a hotel and
choose to eat dinner at a restaurant elsewhere in town. The fact
that they offer two services doesn't oblige you to have both.

I do not think it would be rude. You are paying for the price of
the movie and the food is an additional service. When I went to
a similar theater, I think I ordered a beer, but not a full
meal.

This. We go to one near us and seldom order more than a drink.

I go to a small music venue once a year that offers drinks and
food, I don't think they care if you don't want to eat. You are
paying to see the performer.

When we first moved to Texas, my son was dying to go. So we
did. He ordered some huge burger and fries. I ordered popcorn,
we both had sodas. well, it was so dark in there, the burger
almost met the floor, our laps, and the people in front of us.
The popcorn was in the biggest stainless bowl I had ever seen,
hot and salty. Very good.
Needless to say, the meal for DS was not enjoyable. If we ever
go back it will be popcorn and soda only.

I have never been to a cinema that does this, but I once
attended a Rufus Wainwright concert in a theatre with a bar at
the back of the auditorium. The constant disruption of people
going backwards and forwards for their drinks drove me batty.
Having meals served during a film, with all the noise of menu
discussion, clattering of trays and cutlery on delivery, food
smells, servers constantly moving about etc - possibly just at
poignant or climactic moments - no thanks. I'd rather wait for
the DVD to come out and watch in peace and quiet at home!
