Team Captain

Last year, when I walked for our area's Making Strides Against
Breast Cancer, I said that this year I would step up and become
a team leader. Here it is a year later and I am a Team Captain
and I am so excited to be helping to fund mammograms for women
who can not afford them. I am hoping that many of my friends
will join me in the either the walk or in making donations or
both.
But the good news is that I'm here and I'm well and I'm able to
do this!

You ARE superwoman! Wow, to go through all that you did, with
the boss attitude, and to come through it with such grace and
fortitude is fantastic, but now you are willing to lead the
charge for others - I am in such awe of you.

Well, I'm still waiting for the ability to fly, but I did buy
myself a new glow-in-the-dark T-shirt with the Super(wo)man
emblem on it! Seriously though, anyone who goes through cancer
treatments is riding on the shoulders of those who came before
them. We owe them a big debt and I feel it can only be paid
forward. Which I do gladly and with a sense of gratitude. If
someone in your community asks you to support the Making Stride
Walk, please do what you can. And pray (or send up good
thoughts) for me on Oct. 13, which is when I'll be walking!
