Does anyone have a air fryer.

I do and when I remember I have it, I love it!
I just made some stuffed pretzel poppers and they were so good.
I made chicken, hot dogs, fries of course. I belong to a FB
group for Air fryers and I'm amazed at what people are able to
do.

Which brand to you have? I'm very interested in one but I'm
surprised at the variance in pricing. I definitely want one that
can do 4 servings of something.

I do not have one, but my friend just got one, and I'm going to
visit her next week and we will set it up and play with it to
see how we like it.
If you want, I can report back when I get home.
Brand, model, what we tried and how it worked.

I have one - I've made chicken breasts and bacon. Bacon is so
easy - put a little water in the bottom, set it at 400 F, cook
for 7 minutes, check, then cook for 4 minutes more. Mine is a
smaller air fryer, so I can cut 3-4 pieces of bacon in half and
cook them. Comes out nice and crisp and much less messy than
stove-top and don't have to turn on the oven.
Chicken breasts came out very moist and tender.
It does take up a lot of room, but I got a good deal on it, so I
bought it. I'm glad I did. Mine is a Cooks brand from JCPenney.
I don't know what size it is.

I have a question right off. How difficult are they to clean?
I used a Galloping Gourmet oven in the 70s and 8os. We loved the
food and my 8 year old used it for years. It just got too heavy
for me. For comparison, I think the old Foreman Grills without
removable plates are hard to clean and my small Instapot comes
apart easily enough.

I also would like to know how the food compares to a regular
deep fryer!

We bought the t-Fal actifry when it was on sale at costco. We
actually bought it halfsies with our neighbors and it mostly
lives at their house. It can make enough fries for 4 big
eaters, but the rotating arm breaks some of the longer fries
when they're thawing out. I haven't tried it with fresh cut
fries.
I've jammed 8 drumsticks in there (probably over crowding them,
but whatever...!) and they came out crispy and delicious.
Pros:
The major pro for me is that I can cook a decent amount of food
in there without heating up my whole kitchen by using the big
oven. Clean up is easy, because the whole food cooking area
comes out, and you can rinse it in the sink (I've never cooked
things in there that required a lot of scrubbing).
Cons:
The con is that I can't cook for more than 4 people in it. It
takes about 40 minutes for the fries to cook, and same for other
cuts of meat. I sometimes feel like there's a lot of dead space
that should be filled with food, but I know that's to let the
hot air circulate. There are even bigger t-Fal models, that
allow you to cook two things at once, which might be more
useful.
It takes up a lot of shelf space, which one might not have
available.

My first one was a Cooks Essentials and was only 3.25 qts. I
wanted a bigger one and DH successfully ruined my CE one by
using it on the stove and accidentally got it on fire.
Now I have a Emerill. It's a little bigger but I still want a
bigger one. I have made chicken wings. fish, fries and last
night I had cheese stuffed pretzel poppers. I have made many
other things.
I belong to a FB group and they post the most amazing food!
Cleaning it is a breeze! Just wash the container, that's it!
As soon as I can figure out how to sneak in a bigger one, it
will be here.
I have seen pictures of meatloaf, roasted veges, potatoes,
shrimp. Just about anything can be cooked in one.

Mine is very easy to clean. The basket and the holder come apart
and can be hand-washed.
