       I'm not the PP, but also have a ring doorbell, and yes, as it is
       wifi connected you can access it from anywhere via a smartphone
       (provided that smart phone is on wifi or has a data signal of
       course!). It is quite handy to tell delivery people where to
       leave packages, or to tell door to door solicitors to go away.
       Also, I can have a look at my front door at any time (even if
       the bell isn't pushed), which is also helpful if my house alarm
       has been activated - I can see if it's an actual problem or a
       false alarm then.

       We talk to people at the door all the time. It's usually one of
       the neighbor kids looking for my daughter to play. But it's nice
       to be able to tell solicitors you're not interested without
       going to the door. But I still usually just look to see who's
       there and not answer at all.  ;D
