KC and the Sunshine Band, My Boogie Shoes:
I’ve been singing this since I was quite small as:
Girl from me to you you’re my favorite thing.
I can’t wait tonight to see you again.
       Instead of:
Girl to be with you is my favorite thing.
I can’t wait til I can see you again.

Background info: Back when I was a teenager, there was a
commercial for Dijonnaise featuring some jingle where they sang
       "Dijonnaise".
Well, one day I heard a song played somewhere to the tune of the
Dijonnaise jingle. I heard it as "Goodbye Girl". I thought "so
that's where they got the Dijonnaise melody from"- and never
paid it another thought. This was back in the 90s.
Well, I must have seen Dijonnaise recently in a supermarket- and
quickly remembered the commercial. I looked up the "Goodbye
Girl" lyrics- but could not find anything remotely resembling
       the Dijonnaise song.
So I looked up "Dijonnaise song"- and it turns out that the song
it is based on actually says "Duke of Earl"!!!!!!!
I was a teenager when the commercial came out and when I
misheard the original song. I am in my 40s now! Sure sure,
English is my second language- but it is still a stretch to hear
"Goodbye Girl" from "Duke of Earl"!!!

Local DJ's once had to get on the air and ask parents to stop
their small children from calling the station to request "Hooked
on the Ceiling". It was actually B.J. Thomas' "Hooked on a
       Feeling".

My dad always thought the AC/DC song was "Dirty deeds and the
       thunder chief." :)

We were on the way to church and Relax by Frankie Goes to
Hollywood ended and the DJ did a bit of commentary. DH asked
what he said and I said, "I wasn't listening closely. Something
about how controversial it was in the 80s." DH was confused
about why it was controversial and I said, "Because it says...."
He said, "No, it's when you want to call."
I didn't clear it up for him because a. I was laughing too hard
and b. we were on the way to church.

When I was a kid, we were listening to music at school one day.
"My Eyes Adored You" by Frankie Valli was on, and a friend of
mine came up to me and said "Did you hear that? He said that
when they first started, she was fifteen and he was only six!"
After having a good laugh, I explained that the words were "You
were fifth grade, I was sixth."
Years later, another friend said that when she first heard the
song, and for a while after, she was convinced that he was
       singing "Liza Dora".
